The CBA actually isn't that difficult (unless you're Paul Holmgren). There are some good links on some of the other forums on hfboards as well.

Heh, thanks.
I guess I just try to do whatever I do 110%, even though knowing about these things will do me no good.
Not like I have anything better to do, though.

No, I just have a copy of the CBA (decrypted so I can just copy sections out instead of typing them out ) and I remember most of it.

Explaining things isn't a big deal but arguing about whether or not we'd lose a year of Kassian's ELC after he appeared for Portland last year wasn't fun.
It was so obvious that it wouldn't based on past examples, but it was still an issue for some for whatever reason (probably because there's a little bit of ambiguity in the CBA).
It was more of a tongue-in-cheek statement.

This guy has been amazing here in Victoria. I've gone to about 5 Royals games this year and Sundher brings it every night. Excellent puck handler and drives the body. Good signing by the Sabres.

Kevin Sundher was born and raised in Canada, but his background is Indian (the country). Based on the name "Sundher" his heritage is probably from North India (Punjab region) and religion is probably Sikh.

I seem to be higher on Sundher than most, I really think he can do something for this team. Everything I've watched of him, he looks fantastic out there. He's lighting up the CHL this year, I think I read he's at a goal per game rate.

Interesting...any other Indian players of note? Or is he the first?

Edit - Answering my own question, Manny Malhotra

Manny Malhotra, but that's about it.
The only other one I can think of is Prab Rai, but he's terrible.

Sundher traded from the Victoria Royals to the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Ya know I've heard multiple people talk about the Native American curse we have on our sports to be the reason why our lacrosse team is the only team that wins. What if Sundher becomes the next big #1 Center in Buffalo!

Sundher isn't a Native American.

Coming back around to this guy, since it looks like he and Flynn are going to be leaned on to provide scoring behind Porter/Mancari/Adam. He flamed out a bit after moving over to the Wheaties, but his Dev Camp was top notch -- hands in tight, high tempo, still moves really well.

Not a chance. Kevin's a better skater, but Evander brings so much more to the table.

Didn't he have a concussion at that time?

I'm really curious how he pronounces it (or rather, how everyone else will), whether he'll use the truer pronunciation (SEUN-dhar) or something else (SON-dhar)

Sundher is a legit prospect. I don't want to be that ass who predicts we have another Foligno on our hands but he will be ready if the opportunity presents itself.

I agree. His season ended a bit disappointingly due to injury issues.

Quote:
"It is kind of frustrating. I was starting to get healthy there and I was able to find my legs and my game and just relax and play and then the concussion happened," said Sundher, who missed the last six games, "I'm never missed games in my life in hockey so its a little bit of adversity I've never really gone through. It's not the end of the world, but its definitely a little frustrating."

In addition to his concussion, Sundher was already dealing with some issues related to his asthma.

"It was tough for a while there. I felt like I was in a daze for 2-3 weeks, and I just didn't really get over it," said Sundher, "I just got it this year, it was new and I guess you learn things as you go along. I've learned how to deal with that a little bit better...I'm fine now and breathing good."

I've been quietly optimistic about this kid for a little while now. He understandably gets forgotten due to the excitement over our new draft picks. He should be in good form come camp with the concussion behind him and having a handle on his newly diagnosed asthma.

I'm hoping to see a line of Girgs/Sundher/Vet. But I don't enough about Rochester's lineup or their depth to know how realistic this is.
