His skating has looked fine, it's his stick that hasn't looked so hot.

Meh, those lines are actually pretty good IMO, theres not much you can do when our Wingers go down, Winnik isnt that bad, he had a nice Wrappy last game.

I actually would have liked to have seen VDG get a chance on the top line, IMO he could maybe make something happen with Stas and Dutch, he's good at getting the puck down low at in the corners.

5 Rookies playing for us tonight, could end up being a very bad thing, could end up a good thing.

Looking forward to tonights game!

Yeah, I haven't been impressed with Malone at all so far. Granted he hasn't gotten many minutes, but he hasn't deserved them either. I don't mind Van Der Dutch. We'll see what Brophey brings to the table. Really wish Darth Maul was back though.

I'd be shocked if it gets more than 2 minutes of ice time total.

His offensive game seems to need a lot of work. Granted that's not what he's known for really, but I remember that even the college games I saw him play he didn't stand out offensively. At this point, he looks like our McLeod replacement. Two of those type of guys on one line.

I would say his effort. Must have strained it during the bag skates.

That's pretty awesome.

On a side note, as someone else on Twitter pointed out, our erstwhile Avalanche reporters need to shut the hell up about EJ's goal drought. Even Dater rightfully pointed out that the kid needs to focus on his DEFENSE, not his offense. I'm sure the goals will come easier for him once this team gets some more talent up front and more quality scoring chances are generated overall.

Hoping we get to see the EJ we saw in the 3rd period the other night. That guy was a beast.

With that said; 6-1 Sharks.

In my opinion Galiardi hasn't really done a lot this season to play on the first line over Winnik.
Both aren't perfect there and I think Winnik isn't a worse choice.

Galis been one of our best forwards for awhile now. Winnik has played much better on a line with Silent Jay

Even if we play out of our minds tonight, SJ will more than likely win this one. Not confident that we'll pull off the 'W', injuries will be the excuse, and we will move on. Sound about right?

True, but putting Winnik on the top line guarantees that Stastny and Duchene get more ice time than usual.

Winnik is an offensive black hole. He's killed more offensive plays than Nazi's killed Jews. The dude is made for the 3rd line. That's what separates him and Galiardi. Gali isn't really made as a first liner, but he's played well as one in a smaller role. He's shown a penchant for being able to create some plays and bring a little offense to the table. This is something Winnik can't do.

Yeah but Winny can clear up some room for Duchene and Stastny.
Something Galiardi doesn't do lately while not playing incredible offense either.

Maybe Gali would be the better option but it's tight in my opinion so I'm okay with this decision by Scratcho.

In two meetings they have had eight power plays and we two. Avs need to be disciplined since it seems we don't really get marginal calls going our way. Especially against veteran teams.

That's just it, does Winnik really create that much space? I don't think so, for a big guy he's not very physical. Gally hits a hell of a lot more than he does. Not meaning to knock on the guy, because he's been really good for what he brings, but I still think TJ is the better guy to put on that line.
