I rarely clean mine, but I toss it in the washer and let it air dry once in a while. No harm yet. Other than that it just gets hung up after a game as does the rest of my equipment. I'd imagine a water/soap mix would be the suggested wipe-down method.

When I purchased my helmet - the store manager at the hockey store told me that "sweat" is what usually breaks down the foam - EPP or whatever else it is called to break down.

I wipe my helmet down with a cloth on the inside, and make sure to air dry it when I get home.

Yeah don't use product to clean it, it might break down the foams/shell even more.

I have a VN liner helmet and I just wipe it down with some alcohol/water solution. Occasionally I would rinse it out with some warm water too and let it air dry.

I spray it with Febreeze Sport. The one with alcohol in it and let it air dry. I usually do this once every 4 or 5 times a play.

I just rinse it under the tap, before I pack it away. Just takes a second.

Never cleaned mine yet - air dry only. When it starts looking really grotty or I see a new model I really like, I upgrade. Some guys wear bandanas on their heads.

I've never cleaned my helmet. I just make sure to air dry it after I skate.
