Brad Church? Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Wasn't he a highly-touted first-round bust from Washington back in '93 or something?

Cam Ward is not a shoe-in in my book. A favorite, sure. But not a shoe-in, Krahn could take his starting job (assuming he stays healthy).

That might be true but Ward is a shoe in to be on the team, and I doubt Ward gets demoted beyond anything below a 1a goalie unless he really messes up.

Ward IS a shoe in as the GM of the canes already stated that where he wants him! (Coach Rowe may not want him there if he screws up, but lemme tell you if he trys to demote him hes gonna hear it!) Krahn CAN NOT take a cane goalies spot!!! There is ONE spot on the team for a CANE goalie, and ONE spot for a FLAME goalie.... so Krahn might get a spot, but he would be taking it from Centomo, NOT Ward.

Yes, if Krahn makes the team, he could steel the #1 job, but I just dont see that happening for him, not yet! But Ward is def a shoe in for the Cane goalie.... he would have to TOTALLY stank up the camp to get ECHL honors!!!

Yeah Church has been around for a good while! I am pretty sure he was signed for VET help.

Is his listed weight a typo? Otherwise, he'd better start working on filling out that frame.

Big time typo. I believe he's around 6'4", 205 lbs. now. He grew an inch last season

I like Krahn, but I think Ward will beat him out for the job. IMO, whoever doesn't end up being the starter needs to be loaned to a team in which he can start. Krahn really needs to get some minutes in this year.

Shaun Sutter? Shouldn't he be with the Senators farm team (he signed with Ottawa didn't he?) And Jason Spence, is he still even Flames property?

The Flames can place up to 10 players (9 skaters and 1 goaltender) in Lowell and 7 (six and 1) in Vegas if I'm not mistaken right? That means that one goaltender (most likely Davis Parley) will be looking for a place to play this season.

We better have our own franchise in the AHL next season.

I'd sure like to see a new AHL team exclusively for the Flames that allows more of our overseas prospects to come over and play. I truly think we're missing out on talent because we simply can't afford to sign talent and bring them over. Would be nice to see guys like Trubachev, Medvedev, Taratukhin, Maki, and yes, even Zainullin come over and get accustomed to the North American game.

Tom Reimann B F 5' 10" 185 08.07.1978 Blaine, MN

I couldnt identify half of team B, so I couldnt take many notes! They worked alot on the goalies,. in fact they came out about 15 mins before hand, and supposedly the goalie coach for the Canes was working with them~ I was actually a lil shocked at how Parley played.... better than I expected! Krahn was sprawled on the ice half the time, and Zepp let in a couple "what the hecks"! The D was mixed up through practice, there wasnt really any set pairings! I got the forward line combos down on paper by their # but I couldnt tell who the heck they were... I tried real hard to, it took me like 15 mins just to pick out Chuck (i have seen pics of him) I heard that Regehr looks like his brother, but smaller, there was no one out there that looked like Robyn! If anyone can hook me up with any pics of the players they would like info on, I can try and check them out tomorrow!

Couple things.... yesterday was the scrimage between team A and B. Team A totally kicked butt winning 6-2. Cam Ward started for team A and Krahn started for team B. (i got there at the end of the 1st and it was already 4-0) I didnt have any paper or anything to take notes, so I dont have much detail. But Coach Rowe was coaching team A, and Coach Flemming was coaching team B. The Gm, vice pres, and owner of the canes was there as well as a couple scouts. The guys played 3 25 min periods with 2 25 min intermissions. I dont think that it was a huge surprised to the people in attendence that team A won, but to get spanked that bad.... the game was pretty chippy toward the end of the 2nd and during the 3rd. A couple players that really stood out were, Allan Rourke, Chuck Kobasew, Jim Henkel, Mike Zigomanis for team B and Brad Fast A D 6' 0" 195 02.21.1980 Fort St. John
Brennan Evans, Bruno St. Jaques, Cam Ward, Chad Larose, Danny Richmond, Eric Staal, Ryan Bayda, Sean Curry, Steve Saviano. Their 1st preseason game is tonight against the Worcester Ice Cats (st. Louis farms)
OH and Craig Mac is playing on team A

Actually I think Zepper got the word yesterday that hes heading south! Chads playing pretty well out there, chippy as usual! Hes really fighting for a spot! But yeah coach Flemming is heading back down there I think mon, so I am pretty sure some of the guys will be heading south with him. Zepper playd well though, (i think the teams are totally unfair though, talent not spread evenly!!) I think he let in at least one of the 6 scored on team B. But hes workin hard, I have a feeling he may get some preseason action this weekend, before any cuts are made!

33 Davis Parley LOSS 29:30 20 18
30 Rob Zepp 30:30 16 15
We gave up 36 shots on net!!!!!! and only managed 21
The D need help, MAJOR help!! And where are these big time scorers we are supposed to have? Staal NOT producing at all, Badya, Ziggy, Kobasew, Henkel, and Germyn should be able to throw a few on net too... whats the deal, are the other teams goalies that good, or is it their D? Cuz I KNOW we have talent on this team.... just no ones showing any! Three games in and already disappointed

I'd say Engelland should be shipped to the ECHL. I think Evans, Giordano and Regehr all have much more potential.

agreed. I'm just wondering who of the above aforementioned played in the last game for Lowell , b/c it sounds like the D really struggled

# NAME G A PTS +/- S PIM

26 Rourke, Allan 0 0 0 -2 2 0
34 Giordano, Mark 0 0 0 -1 1 0
36 Engelland, Deryk 0 0 0 -1 0 5

43 Evans, Brennan 0 0 0 0 1 0
I dunno, our D that are gonna be stickin around were playing!

Side note: Lowell Lock Monsters (AHL) - Assigned goaltender Rob Zepp, defenseman
Jared Newman and right wing David Lundbohm to Florida of the ECHL.
Also I had word that Parley was cut, I think sent to TX, along with another player. I forget who!
