Game 30: New York Rangers at St Louis Blues

half-assed

I haven't seen official lines yet. Is Grachev the 13th forward or will he get a chance to face his old team?

This game will be a stern test for the Blues. I'm interested to see how the team handles being given 2 days off this week prior to the game.

I'm excited for the game as usual! Here's to giving them a loss to talk about on HBO next week (although I do like the Rangers).

I am guessing 2-2 with a Blues loss in shootout.

Going to miss seeing Sobo

New York has lost 3 of their last 5. So there's possibly a chink in their armor, maybe we can take advantage of it.

I say if we can get +2 goals, we come away with the win.

Plus, we have an amazing home record this year.

Staal is IR still... so we might be sitting good.

EDIT

* Marc Staal has missed 28 games after being put on the Injured Reserve list on Oct. 5 due to a concussion.

* Mike Rupp has missed 21 games due to a knee injury, suffered on Oct. 24.

* Wojtek Wolski has missed 17 games due to a groin injury, suffered on Nov. 3.

* Michael Sauer has missed four games due to a concussion, suffered on Dec. 5.

Yes and Hitch said he will start one of the 3 games this weekend, not which on though.

I hate the Rangers so I hope we can put a beating on em and hear Torts whine about it on 24/7 next week.

Yeah, I've always had a hate for the Rangers and I'm not even sure where it came from. This game shows every sign of being a 1-0 game so I'm going to guess 5-4 blues...

Don't get to see the game tonight, have to go watch my little cousin play for the Illinois State Championships. That said, Blues win 5-4 with a 2 goal night from Perron.

Prediction:
2 PP goals again. I think its going to be harder to dominate the 5 on 5 play with the Rangers, and special teams is where the Blues will have to win this one.

They're going with practise lines so Grachev and Cole are scratched tonight (ACCORDING TO TWITTER...not official source).

Also according to twitter....Grachev learned about his trade via text msg from his mom while he was at the movies lol.

If the Rangers play like they did against the Stars you guys will get a shutout without breaking a sweat. I'm not confident at all.

We do play really well against Eastern conference teams, hope we can get the win since we're getting some free publicity from 24/7.

4-2 Blues

Halak is 0-3 on GOP Debate night (oops!) if you include the Gingrich-Cain "Lincoln-Douglas debate" but Elliott is 2-0 with 2 shutouts (Tampa, San Jose).

Very significant stat.

Perron is due for a highlight reel play. I'm thinking of that Isles game (was that last year)?

Didn't you hear? That's the only reason we beat teams. They're all slumping or flat when we play them, we've just lucked and trapped our way up the standings

The Rangers won 2 straight before that game by a combined score of 10-2. So I wouldn't call them slumping. They are 2-2-1 in the last 5, but I don't know if that's a slump either. I guess if you consider that they were 12-2 in the 14 before that, it's somewhat of a slump. If we lose tonight, that may be a slump.

I don't think that comment about the Rangers slumping was serious. People are poking fun at a thread on the main NHL forum where some people try to assert that every single win the Blues have against good teams is due to slumps from those teams, and it has nothing to do with the Blues.

Yeah, I think the original comment was tongue in cheek. I suspect most posters are aware the Rangers are probably the hottest team in the East at the moment.

The Rangers have had a butter soft schedule so far this year.

It still feels like yesterday.

I also have a vivid memory of attending the game where he got two goals vs Detroit his rookie season.

Yeah, it wasn't serious. Should be a great game with 2 hot teams.
