Not true. At one point yes, but they beat the Caps (who aren't great but are still always dangerous), the Sharks, the Canucks, the Flyers (albeit they had significant injuries at the time, but hey they beat the Caps 5-1 without Grioux), the Penguins (with Crosby and Malkin), and the Panthers.

The hottest team in the east at the moment is Philly. Boston, I think you can still count as hot. The Rangers are 14-4-1 in their last 19, but are also 2-2-1 in their last 5. So they've cooled down.

They've only played 5 games against other top ten teams, fewest among the group. So it is true.

I like Ryan Callahan a lot. He's one of the guys I started to watch more of following the olympics

I don't know off the top of my head what those teams are but the Rangers' losses are

LA OT
Anaheim SO
Islanders
Edmonton
Toronto 2x
Ottawa SO
Montreal
Florida
Tampa Bay SO
Dallas

Frankly, that's actually a lot of crappy teams they lost to, which doesn't paint a great picture but if we're talking about top 10 teams in the league. I can't imagine many of those teams as top 10 in the league. Maybe Florida, who they recently beat 6-1. So it's not like they're losing to those top 10 teams.

Also why is top 10 the cutoff point? I'm not sure if San Jose is there, does that not make them a good team? Washington isn't great, but they're always a dangerous team that no one would be surprised to see win that division. I don't think too highly of them, but they're still pretty dangerous.

Like seeing Stewart stick his nose in there right away.

Not sure why Nichol is with Steen/Backes. Not a fan at all at splitting up that line

I'm just saying, the record is pretty clear. By percentage, Philly, Minnesota, NYR, Detroit, Boston, Chicago, STL, Vancouver, Florida and Pittsburgh are the top ten teams in the league. Each of those teams has played more against the rest of the group than the Rangers have. The Blues have the most by a significant margin, going 8-2-1 against them. If you're mentioning the Sharks and Caps, the Blues have had more games also against those teams than the Rangers and won them all. They dominated the Caps in Washington (first game after the coaching change) and won in each building vs. San Jose. They also beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh with Crosby and Malkin (Crosby's second game back). The Blues beat Florida, Philly in Philly, both games against Vancouver, both games against Detroit.

The Rangers are a very good team and one similar to the Blues in a lot of ways. But they've had an incredibly soft schedule to build their record, there's no arguing.

What a great shift from Berglund. Definitely would like to see more of that.

10-3-2 when scoring first. Hope that's a good omen for the rest of the night.

I've liked what I've seen from Chris Stewart in the early part of this game. If he could just find a way to get one to the back of the net...

Great start! Keep it up, guys! Perron making up for lost time, and Berglund heating up!

Blues have really picked it up. Seems like Backes just doesn't leave the ice.

I've said this in a couple different threads but I really really really like Ryan Reaves

I am not really sold on Reaves yet. I see him as a tough but not seeing it a whole lot. I think I see him as a different type of player and not seeing him in the same light as you are.

I kind of have a sweet spot for Porter... I am curious to see more of him. I see great potential in that kid.
