Another question..How many here are season ticket holders? I am and another reason I may be upset at this teams performance is because I work all day, then get excited, get to the games..spend even more money and for this product?

Its easy for a few homers to come around and defend their mancrushes but If people werent buying tickets to see scrubs on ice this team may be in Hamilton. I know its unlikely..but I have a right to target whomever I want. Even if its the biggest bright spot on the caps who still makes 4.5 mill alot more than I or any poster here will ever even see.

Start winning and ill gladly eat the crow and shut up. Untill that happens with regularity..or even if they lose but actually show some life and score goals id be happier than this. Going to a game against philly and losing 5-1 on our turf while philly is without their best two players and watching the caps just give up...I just want to know are any of you actually paying your hard earned money to see it?

Nope, not this season. Haven't wanted to waste money on tickets to watch this product. I already spend extra at home for HD csn, NHL net work and XM radio to get complete caps coverage and other NHL news. If I didn't watch the caps, I wouldn't care to spend the extra money on these products, and its been depressing. But I love the team and the sport enough to wait and hope. just haven't had any interest in going to games much this year, only been to two.

Hes the best cap sure but I still think he could do more. Alot of people claim hes top 5 center in the game but the best playmakers in the game find players in positions to score.Right now Orlov looks like a better passer than Nicky. Alot of its on ovie not scoring, but backstrom is to me looking more like a better well rounded 2 way player than just pure playmaker. hes a beast and underated defensively. A powerplay with Backstrom on it needs to click more I dont care who the other players are. The only thing ovie does worse than Nick right now is handle the puck. Backstrom often misses the net too..makes the ocasional bad pass...and in this avs game almost coughed one up causing a shorty..i know the ref played a part too.

I dont blame you. I just didnt really see the need for nbtw and braden mancrush to jump my **** if I want to vent a little when they are not the ones who seem to be wasting money and time other than on their tv sets right now. I still respect both posters and often find their ideas and trade proposals intresting.

The bottom line is this team needs to win and picking out bright spots on a losing team seems moot to me. Somebody on the caps needs to step it up and win us some games regardless if they play on the 4th line or make 13 mill a year.

Yeah, I'm a season ticket holder. You're barking up the wrong tree.

We need another speedster or two in the line-up. I remember when this team was fast. Colorado's team speed was easily a notch or two ahead of ours tonight. I appreciate the attempt to add toughness and intensity to the line-up, but none of our additions in the last 24 months have been even above average skaters. Just having Chimera, Johansson, and Ovechkin won't cut it.

Because I insulted the mighty but overpaid Brooks Laich? Yet still said I respected your posting and esp when you goto the developement camps with news. Im not new to these boards or this team. I understand if you view me as what you old timer caps fans refer to as clueless and such but its still my opinion that if 21 cant score against a team like the avs or his -2 wasnt stopping them then he might need to step it up. Im glad you are a fellow sth..at this rate we can decorate each others paper bag masks

Kozlov was slow but he did ok. I dont disagree at all because I love fast players. I think some decision making could use some work as well.

I have no problem with having some slow players in the line-up, but when the vast majority of your team isn't going to outrace someone it becomes an issue. It's quite obvious with our blueline minus Green, in particular. Only the kids are mobile, even Wideman gets beat to a lot of pucks.

George should have made a roster trade last year. A courtesy to Bruce, for all that Bruce did for him. He made a roster trade you say? Yeah, he traded maybe Bruce's favorite player, the team instantly collapsed.

Before canning Bruce, George should have. Some were calling for one last year. I believe Dale is still accessing the team. But its becoming clear that the collective players George has horded since our rebuild, are more a problem then he realize. That's another thing on his problem list. Maybe he had a eye out for Dale when bringing in Brouwer and Ward. But he still needs to move someone he covets, out. A fair trade will bring a fair return, the loss of one of his guys, negated by an injection of someone elses problem that may be part of the right solution.

I am still a bit pissed that during Ovi's dominance of the league, George seemed to take that for granted and assumed he would be like that forever. Letting Sarge slowly develop as our 1LD for almost all of that time, while not THE problem with our team, is just an easy example of where a GM may miss an opportunity. Trade plus fiddy on the high, for instance. Sarge was not ready to lead our team defensively to a cup as our 1LD. No one blames Sarge, yet its almost like George had visions of Sarge hoisting a cup and then passing it to Ovi.

Fresh faces in the way of 2012 draft choices, please!

I'd be happy if the Caps could get a 7th rounder for Hamrlik. Just getting rid of his salary/contract would be a coup. Moving his 3.5 along with Schultz's 2.75 could go along way toward signing the likes of a Ryan Suter come the off season.

Wideman at TDL would fetch a possible 2nd rounder.

Vokoun at TDL might fetch a 3rd rounder, emphasis on might.

I live too far away to be a season ticket holder, but I do pay for Center Ice and NHL gamecenter. I do love the Caps a lot even if they are currently pathetic to watch. I watch every game until it is over no matter how bad they play. Put it this way, if the franchise ever relocated, I would be done with Bettman NHL. I would go back to spending my hockey time to watch Canadian Jr (WHL and OHL) and NCAA hockey. I like other teams like Edmonton, and Winnipeg, but I don't put them in the Caps category in terms of my favorite sports team. Heck I put the Caps ahead of any other sport and I love Football and Soccer. As for the team and disappointment, that is nothing new to me. I'm going on 31 years as a Caps fan and have seen bigger disappointments (1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 2009, and 2010).

I believe Wideman could get a 1st imo. The TDL drives up prices and defensemen are higher in demand. Schultz gets good value at the TDL, imo.

Because you thought you somehow had more right to lodge ridiculous complaints due to the fact that I only spent money on tv.

Guess that means Hendricks and Perreault are both probably well enough to play.
