Rakell=exactly as advertised, phenomenal two way player. saved a goal backchecking by lifting a stick, also a good offensive player makes good passes, and a real nice shot
Karlsson=Very confident offensive player, oozes skill. could be a big steal for us

Good to see. I'm very impressed with Forsberg as well. Imagine adding another talented Swede.
Or imagine a line of Forsberg-Karlsson-Rakell if they all pan out right.
I like Forsberg alot...he would be a great pick for sure.....
DSP has had about half a dozen big hits
He's just a wrecking ball. So happy we picked him. Real nice guy, great player.
On Forsberg, I'm trying to watch every minute he's on the ice. He often finds himself ranked 4th behind the Russians and Murray, but there isn't much video of him. Trying to see if he looks like a future first line talent. So far I just see a lot of potential. He doesn't look like much of a top talent. I mean he could be, but in this tournament he hasn't even been his team's best player.

Murray has been impressing me a lot.
Remember this is a 19/20 y.o tourney, 17 y.o's typically don't dominate but early on Forsberg showed some flashes I thought, but IMO after Zbad, Karlsson is the most skilled player on Sweden, IDK how the Ducks found that guy but sick talent

Considering the fact that he was playing in a B league and not exactly producing well.
Another undrafted swede you should look closely at is Pontus Aberg. 14 points in 29 games in the SEL is really really good for an 18 year old rookie. By comparison, Niclas Backstrom had 0 points in 19 games as a SEL rookie and 26 points in 46 games in his sophomore season.

Nice, I didn't even know that. Though stats don't mean much when it comes to NHL development and transition from European to the North American game.

It sometimes do, if a guy put up a good amount of points in SEL at a young age and have a skillset that translates well. The u-20 alltime list in SEL is topped by Forsberg, Näslund, the Sedins Kent Nilsson and Bäckström

You don't know that about any prospect wherever they play though. His point production is rare for a SEL player his age. Thread on Aberg on the prospects boards: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=993721
Unfortunately for Aberg and Team Sweden though, he's been sent home from the tournament because of an injury. Could mean he will fall in the draft too...
The good news is that Rakell and Karlsson will play a bigger role on the Swedish team now.
I love Ryan Murray's game. He's not as fast as Fowler, but he's quite better defensively. And I thought Fowler had insane poise for an 18 year old. Murray's maturity and poise, though calm, is mind-blowing really.
Very impressed with Filip Forsberg. Would love to get him if we're picking 4th. Great hands, great vision, strong shot, good speed...he's the perfect forward for Sweden. Clearly deserving of his top 5 rank in the draft. Reminds me a bit of Gabriel Landeskog last year, though Landeskog plays a more defensive minded game.
Aberg looked pretty good but really not as effective as Forsberg or any of our Swedish prospects. I'd think that Aberg goes somewhere around 17-25. Depends on the demand for defensemen this year.
Friburg looks good. He's very strong and he's got great hockey smarts, he knows where to position himself and he's got great energy. Not too sure he's NHL material. I could be wrong, but something about his overall game seems lacking to me. He reminds me of Chris Kunitz though. Just to give people an idea.
Karlsson was a big surprise to me really. I wasn't a fan of the pick at the time. I thought it would be used better on more proven talent, but the pick is starting to make me think that Murray (or at least his scouting staff) is a drafting genius. Karlsson looks amazing for a guy who wasn't even really dominating a Swedish B-league team. I was more impressed with Karlsson than I was with top 10 pick Mika Zibanejad, and according to Swedes who watched all 3 pre-competition games, Karlsson has been their go-to guy thus far.
Just have one issue with Karlsson. He's still in that B-league. He's second in scoring. That's impressive...I guess, but he needs stronger competition. He'd need to be promoted to that A-league in preparation to come over to America. I mean...maybe not. I could be wrong about that. But we could see a very extended development for Karlsson.
Rakell has changed my mind about him. I thought picking him was a wasted pick, but I've been proven wrong. He's not the fastest of our 2011 picks, but he's got the most overall talent. He's the one I'm most sure of an NHL future. The way he plays makes me thing that he's never really going to be a top 6 forward, but he's going to be a great and effective depth player, similar to Rob Niedermayer in 06-07 (and his good years prior).
Unfortunatly, my team holds no chance, but will be looking forward to watch my team anyway, also 12 draft eligible Girgensons, who is projected to go in 1st round.
And yeah, Ducks have 3 prospects in team Sweden.
I hope game will be closer that Canada-Finland though.
