Not overreacting, but the Oilers look to be on track for a top 5 pick (as I expected from the start of the year). Frankly, the team looks like a steaming pile of s*** with a few roses popping up looking entirely out of place

Damn their hot start for raising my expectations

Part of this loss is on Renney. It was blatently obvious Hall was going and he was wasted on a line with bozo and ronald mcdonald there. Gagner was killing the first line and Hall woulda brought it on that line. How obvious did it have to get?

Peckham doesn't know how to play D anymore, our whole defense got exposed it seems like. Belanger isn't very good. The 4 line comes on the ice and its automatically in our end being cycled for 2 minutes and Dubnyk is a sieve.

Now the positive - Taylor Hall <3

It's not over reaction, this team is done. Their confidence is shot.

All that's left to cheer for is Nuge for the Calder and Hall, Eberle to rack up the points.

Fourth goal was just a back breaker .... even the homer Stauffer calling it the worst goal given up by the Oilers all season .
There were 4 bad plays that led to the 2nd goal, leavign Dubnyk with no chance.

4th goal was brutal I agree, but if he doesnt stand on his head earlier in the game none of it even matters. Especially when the Oilers created nothing at EV and were badly outshot and outplayed.

Really? People saying, "Don't overreact. It is only one game." is as stale as people calling for the players' heads.

Gagner on that line never made sense from the get-go. Nothing against him, but he's too small/weak to compliment the other two guys. Play him between Smyth and Jones, and I bet that would be a decent line. Hemsky is just terrible out there, Horcoff was no better tonight, hopefully he turns it around next game.

I don't get this comment. He let in a softie but he was the sole reason that this was even a game. Phoenix must have had about 20 prime scoring chances so Dubnyk was left out to dry and was probably fatigued by the latter part of the 3rd when he let in the soft goal.

Potter and Hall looked prety good in their first games back.

As for other positives........................I'm really not sure. Oh, Ryan Jones is still doing his thing pretty well.

how many first overalls is too many first overalls...if we become the worst team in the league for 4 more years we could have a full line-up of first overalls and a goalie.....assuming hall and rnh don't leave by then because this team is a joke.

fire tambo. fire lowe. fire renney. fire everyone. bring in new people. let's get people who know what they're doing. no more of this garbage.

the vets suck. i know i sound like a broken record, but again and again smyth and horcoff showing why they should retire. i have heart myself, but you don't see me in the nhl.

buy everyone out. trade everyone, including hemsky for pucks.

If not for that little hot streak we'd be in 30th right now. Again.

I hope they draft some D for christ sake. Reinhart please!

By others, don't you mean Renney? He seems to think that the schedule is the main culprit for the struggles of the team.

When we have 3x consecutive 1st overall picks, playing on our top 2 lines, with Eberle, you can bet guys like Weber will want to sign here for their chance to be on a cup.

We need to trade a lot of the deadweight. Bring on solid role-playing vets for the bottom 2 lines.

Yep, forget skill. Tambo should just sign a roster full of goons. Stanley Cup guaranteed!

Not with RNH and Eberle anyway. If it were say Staal and a big winger, then maybe he could pull it off. That said Hemsky has been garbage, so do we "reward" Gagner with having him line up across from Hemsky?

Maybe the kids got shutdown tonight outside the pp, but at some point you need the vets to step up. If this team didn't have those kids, Horcoff, Hemsky, and Smyth would unquestionably be our top line and number one guys. But as of right now, they can't even provide complementary scoring.

At least he can try, but instead he blames everything possible but himself and the team.

First of all , I'm hardly raging ... do you even know what that word means ?

Second , it doesn't matter how many shots he faced when he gives up terrible goals game after game .
Forty is just a number that doesn't take into account quality , I think I saw him make five good stops tonight which is not too much to expect from an NHL netminder .

The only way Horcoff ever turns it around, is if his linemates turn it around. He does nothing but ride shotgun to much more talented players.

Maybe I should make a thread called, "Does Hemsky Fit This Team Anymore?"
