27 Going To The Rafters confirmed DEC 16th Vs Dallas

http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/f...27_on_dec._16/

Per TG's Twitter:

Quote:
Devs GM Lou Lamoriello on retiring Scott Niedermayer's No. 27 this season: "That is the intention."

Lamoriello said date for Niedermayer ceremony isn't finalized yet, but "It will be in the near future."

****in' right it is. Anyone saying that they disagree can kiss my butt.

He did this:

We all piss on the Rangers, fans and players alike, but he really insulted them by KICKING their ****ing jersey. I love it. Scott ****in' Niedermayer!!!!!!!!

Might be. Not for sure yet.

Also not sure if a number should be retired if it's not a collective unanimous approval by the fans. I might be okay with it. This many years later I'm still unsure.

His impact was undeniable, so I can't scoff. I love Scotty.

I remember going bat **** crazy when he signed with the ducks but I forgave him, he had his reasons... I'll never forgive his mother though, why couldn't she have had just one son

Exactly, I am waiting before I get a ticket. Because if we get faked out I swear people will be spinning on a ceiling fan

Either take a gamble and get a ticket now for cheap, or wait until it's confirmed and buy a ticket for triple face value...

I'm leaning towards the former.

He didn't retire with us, and too many people are indifferent about this for me to want it to happen.

Been down this rabbit hole before. Not of fan of this decision, but do not care enough to fight about it.

Whatevs... Yay, Scotty.

Hopefully he can take some time off working for another organization to come to this thing.

not a huge fan of this decision but, I guess Scotty had some great years here that can't be forgotten no matter how he left.

It'll be a fun night.

I'll pay respects and enjoy the night, but I won't cry manly tears like I did for Daneyko and Stevens, and will for Marty and Elias.

Guy won three cups with us; it's just different, that's all.

Ducks fans still think he became the player he was when he joined them and consider him a life long Duck...at least that's the impression I get when talking to some of the Ducks fans I know.

Will the Ducks follow the Avalanche and retire a player's number too after he only played there for a short period of time?

Not to intrude, but was there some nasty parting shot when he left or something? If he was a UFA and simply signed with another team its a little ridiculous to be still angry. Any info would be cool.

I don't get it either.. he left to go play with his brother...not like he went to the Rangers for cash

Ducks retiring his number wouldn't be nearly as bad as Colorado retiring Bourques.
