Quote:
“The rules are very clear now,” said Murray. “If you fall into a goaltender and touch a goaltender, an elbow to the head and a butt end to the head is fair game. Dan Bylsma said that’s OK for them. Sidney said Nick Foligno is that kind of player.
“I wish (Foligno) was that kind of player. I thought the referees in that game, watching it and hearing the comments, it was 2-on-2. He fell over the goaltender. He was cross-checked four times. There was no question, did he get pushed? I don’t know. He got cross-checked, I thought he got a butt end, but it might have been a full elbow. (Chris) Kunitz comes in with a cross-check and the penalties were even.

“So, (NHL disciplinarian Brendan) Shanahan said that’s a good play. That’s a hockey play. Dan Bylsma said it’s good for them and Pittsburgh were the biggest ones on the head injuries. I’m remiss. I made a mistake. We didn’t have (Chris) Neil and (Matt) Carkner play in the game. We didn’t have enough toughness, so when we play Pittsburgh that’s something you can bring up to me again.

Watch out for this guy...

Wow, that's a very underwhelming Pittsburgh lineup. If we're going to beat them, we need to take advantage of facing them all beat up like this.

I really want to see Cowen fight. He doesn't do it often, but the guy can really scrap.

Cue Malkin going beast mode and putting up at least 3 points.

I'll be the GQ-esque guy throwing kids in Crosby jerseys over the railing in the 300s. See you all there. Bring your kids.

Auld is starting?

Well then...it's a good thing I won't be able to watch this game.

I predict a 2-0 Pens lead 10 minutes into the game.

So MacIntyre is playing? Murray's mouth may have just gotten Carkner killed.

I am seeing the video from the OP for the first time (i remember the thing but couldn't judge it while watching that game live) and i have to say that if you look closely at Crosby's face between 0:39 - 0:41 it really looks like Sid realises what he did and he accepts that he was wrong to Foligno (approving with his head to what Foligno has to say).
So i'm not saying give Crosby credit because he still did a dumb thing but the fact that he accepts he was wrong right there, just seconds after the whole thing happened, makes me appreciate him even more. What happened after is just media BS and stupid interpretations of various statements.

We'd need to score about 6 goals to get it that far.

I think the bottom line is that you can get caught in the heat of the game and do things that have nothing to do with who you really are. It's just harder to control your reactions while playing, that's no secret.

Sorry, no puns today. I'm busier than a tea company in Engelland and can't keep Staaling on my studying. I'll be Nealing and begging for forgiveness next time, but for now I'll just have to bury myself in a Fleury of notes while attempting to Cooke something quick for dinner.

Karlsson always seems to really engage with Malkin. I expect him to have a great game.
