Bought an 89/94/-? player for $464M. I thought about stopping bidding before then, but so be it. At least the first purchase of the season is out of the way...max potential should make up for things.
These are ridiculous prices. I bought most of my guys last year, including a 97Q/maxP +2 17 year old for 342 million. Including the 45 million to upgrade to +3, it cost me 387 million for that player. Got similar players with lower loyalty for like 250-325 million.
A bit of bad news. I kind of expected it after I saw his Q/P/AI after he was pulled. He looked much better in the YS. He's 74/94 and ?+ loyalty. That really isn't a bad player. If I pulled him, I could probably train him up for a few seasons and sell for 20-30M.
Has he trained for you yet? It's been so long since I had such bad facilities that I don't remember how much AI players gain each season. If he can get decent numbers in training, and you can play him ES and on the PP, and he ends up +3 loyalty, then he could be a nice long term player for you. BUT it's probably easier to find better players.
I pulled a similar player when I first started. He was a goalie, maybe named Bryan David?, who never did amount to much. I think I ended up selling him after 5 or 6 seasons for 5-6M. That's not a terrible investment.

Seriously. And it seems like it's harder to find anyone who even has ?+ loyalty, let alone the loyalty & potential to make me think they're worthwhile. I think I'm going to look for some 19-21yos. I need one of those anyway
EDIT: Also, HERE is an auto-league comp generator. It works with HATools, so don't get your hopes up, Muuro
Damn, it looked good until all it did was bring up a url to ha-tools.
In more bad news my young goalie is injured for 4 days. Contracted tujague's injury bug it seems. So unlucky for Goldfish and And You Feel Shame, they both get my veteran goalie for the full game.
Ages of players on my top 2 lines: 17, 18, 19, 19, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24. Five +3, no -3. Four of my third line players are +3 so I can gradually phase them out as needed. I think I'm finally ready to buckle in... Until my next strategy change.
EDIT: Buy a 90/82/+ for 220 mill, sell a 90/82/- for 350 mill. That's how you do that, fellas.

0-3 on the season so far. Not getting blown out but still losing. Looking more and more like I am going to blow up my team other than my top line. I'm giving myself 5 more games for judgement.
Auction ends soon. Too much for not enough AI, but he might be +3. If you're looking to possible waste some money 85/71 ?+
And here's an interesting goalie- 98/59 ?-. Lower AI & exp, and -2P, but he's not bad for 100M. Did not sell at 130M a couple of days ago.

I imagine it has to do with his goalie being 31 years old, while Humes was 25. Six years could provide a decent different in experience. That and the difference between win bonuses.
I've bought four new players recently, but my damned YS had to go produce a couple decent kids. Now I'm actually kind of ok with my lineup, but I still have 800 mill burning a hole in my pocket.
Someone stop me before I do something crazy, like spend it all on this +3 205 EXP 23-year-old I'm tracking.
Not going to go after him. Over 60 AI and also $150M. Ends in two hours.
91/88/+? http://www.hockeyarena.net/cs/index....nc&id=30601108
Tomorrow morning (66 AI, $472M)
Umm...thinking I'll pass on this too. Like the max-1 potential and +? loyalty, but I want mid-to-high quality. Have made a few purchases. Time to get big fish.
Jormakka gets a bid, at least $250M coming in tomorrow afternoon.
