I realize. However, he had a quality scoring chance. He got a good shot off, Miller made a good save and he got tripped. That's a two minute penalty, not a penalty shot.

It's disgusting. Every one of the Leaf's penalties were deserved. Surprisingly, if you're undisciplined, you get penalized. So stupid. That will rile up all the Toronto fans, too

Perhaps the stupid play is pandemic to those paid to cover it? They had some bad plays that they got called on. Keep playing stupid and it will cost a team (as we well know, watching the Sabres play stupidly many nights).

Kassian was an animal, he is so ridiculous dominant on the puck. I can not imagine what it was like when he was playing against 17-18 year old kids 8 months ago. He knows how to use his size perfectly. And we have not even seen an inkling of his crazy side which had a lot of us worried, if he'd be able to reign it in to remain effective. If he keeps playing like this, I don't see any way they could justify sending him down.

Why did McNabb play so little? Just under 7 minutes.

I will say Gragnani was not bad tonight.

Thanks for posting that. Sure looked like a quality shot, as a quality save had to be made to prevent it from going in.

Seeing a sabres game on MSG for the first time all year, and they won
The powerplay
Vanek, aside from the giveaway on the first goal
Ennis was buzzing all night. Used his speed effectively away from the puck. Made quick, simple plays, looked to feed others, and didn't look like afinogenov.
Kassian's board play and hustle to create the 2nd goal.
Staff finding the back of the net again.
Sekera/Hoff
Pominville quietly getting 2 assists and generally being solid defensively, I'll take it.
Roy gets on here for the breakaway pass to vanek, but other than that he wasn't that impressive. I'm sick of watching him try to deke through 2-3 guys and shoot pucks into massive crowds multiple times per game.
Did i mention how nice it was to not have this game be on versus
Kulemin's goal was pretty sweet, gotta admit

B
Penalty shot call
unnecessarily tense finish

U
Leopold's giveaway

The awesome
Knowing the sabres would win the game when I saw connolly was the one taking the faceoff against Gaustad with 5 seconds left

They need to start putting a body on the puck carrier in our own zone. To much waving at the guy with the puck. I'm not asking for thundering hits, but even bumping the puck carrier would do wonders for this team.

All in all, I'll take the effort and the win.

If Toronto and Montreal don't get twice as many power plays as the other team the game is fixed.

Oh, and it was completely classless for Kassian to throw himself face first into the dasher like that to draw the penalty on Phaneuf.

Wild stat for the night? MAG with another +1, even with the blown d-zone stuff on the Leafs' third goal.

And then, as if that wasn't enough, Kassian had the nerve to bite down hard on this lip and cause himself to bleed, just in time for him to stand up and show the ref. Kassian is such a dirty player! Faker! Liar liar hockey pants on fire.

Only comment I have to add is looking good in the second period, at home. There's been issues and threads about it recently.

Must. Stay. Sharp.

I assumed they would change that. Stafford never touched it on the way through.

Went out to a long dinner and had to miss the game tonight. (Boo.) Can anyone point me to the period and approximate time of the McNabb hit? I'm going to run through my DVR to check out the highlights.
