Back pain can be unbearable to play with in a physical sport.

And against those teams fortunate enough to have an elite #1/#2 pairing, you run the risk of having BOTH your superstars shut down for 60 minutes. Do not like.
why do you think we are a one line team with these two on same line? in fact, with zajac back this team has potential for 3 offensive lines, sykora, elais , zubrus was the best line for a chunk of this season and last night zajac/clarkson/teddy had many chances and scored a goal so not really sure how this team is a one line team? if it morphs into that and no other line gets goals then yes i agree but that does not seem to be the case here

i don't think they will have to be split automatically if nobody has noticed it takes a little time for other players to gel with kovy and parise has done just that, this team with clarkson/elias/sykora/zubrus/zajac/ and a more aggressive defense has enough secondary scoring to succeed with them together not to mention if tedenby can actually get going.

We take our 10-8-0 away record to Montreal and their 5-6-6 home record.

We take our 5-5-0 L-10 record to Montreal and their 3-3-4 L-10 record.

Meaningless statistics are meaningless.

I'd be worried about a let down game after a jersey retirement last night. But they have to know that already. Keep the momentum going!

Sucks that the Habs fired their coach, that means they will have extra motivation tonight.

Very first thing I thought of when I saw Martin was fired, teams always seem to play well over a coach is fired as if they are trying to say, see it wasn't us to blame for the bad start.

But it is Montreal and no one plays better there than Marty.

Those are the pairings I want to see as well. Kovalchuk needs Zajac's defensive presence, and Parise and Henrique have absurd chemistry. Put Clarkson with Parise's line, and maybe Zubrus with Kovalchuk's line, and the scoring depth will be impressive.

Putting all the eggs in one basket doesn't work in the long run, however.

And I don't think we can make any conclusions about Zajac just based on last night. The lift he got from the inspirational ceremony and the adrenaline of the first game back probably helped him quite a bit. He won't be fully back to his old self for another few weeks, I think.

Awesome. Need to make another trip to Montreal to see the Devils play there, went in 1994, Jacques first year and the Montreal Forum's last year. Great town, great times.

Yea, but that team at the time was such an abortion, they probably couldn't beat the Mighty Mites that night.

That's what I was thinking. And the Ducks and Caps both had pretty terrible games this year after their coaches were fired.

Hopefully the Habs don't have the usual "Let's impress the new coach" attitude and have the "oh my god! what the hell are we going to do now?" attitude.
