How the **** did I not know John Wayne Gacy Jr. lived so close to my house... Holy **** I had no idea he was a Chicago guy. For some reason I thought he was from Iowa.

When I was reading his wikipedia page I was like... Um.. my house is by I-55... Um... I've heard of 100% of these cities...

Finally I don't have to watch one of the Avs and Caps on tape delay!

I expect the Avs to control the early parts of the game. We've been seeing a lot of that under Hunter. Caps are much stronger in the second and third usually.

The league has a concussion epidemic. We have a groin strain epidemic.

As for Varly...I wonder how severe this "back strain" is? If they're not going to bring in an emergency backup of some kind I'm calling BS on this so-called "back strain."

I personally believe it is more of an "excuse" as to why they are not playing Varlamov v his former team. Us Avalanche fans know Varlamov is due for a game off. And especially since he will be dressed and ready to go as the back-up, methinks it is justification for giving him the night off. I am not worried.

Im sure Varly is fine they just want an excuse so he doesnt have to get embarrassed by his old team.

Huh? I sincerely hope thats not the case. If it is, the avs are in a lot more trouble than we all think. Accepting a defeat before puck drop

I think a lack of confidence is rampant throughout the organization. That's why no one is making any decisions right now.

What? I don't think it's an "embarrassment" issue, but the simple fact that Varlamov needs a break.

Yep, I certainly think this means they are just giving him his normal break.

ok, this is kind of off-topic, but "stretching" is kind of a no-no these days, isn't it? Warm up before a game, stretch after.

According to Daily Face-off, The D pairings are:

Hunwick/O'Byrne
O'Brien/Johnson
Hejda/Elliott.

That is a train wreck.

HECK NO. You need to warm-up/stretch before any activity. Stretching afterwards is key, too. But you need to stretch after your initial warm-up before getting into action. Granted, this is coming from an ex-dancer and diver, lol. But really, you do need to warm-up and stretch before to prevent injury.

Maybe hockey is different? I wouldn't think, but who knows.

Warming up properly is far more important than stretching for before games.

After games a light cool down on the bikes and stretching is important for quicker recovery the next day.

Ah, there we have it. Not sure of the "protocol" for hockey players. Ah, who the heck knows what is going on- this is a weird string of injuries no matter what the case is.

Of course you need to warm up, but the actual stretching isn't really stretching, it's more getting the muscles warm and ready to play.

Stretching should be done at other times, so it doesn't weaken the muscles right before they need to be used.

But I'm sure this prescription will change, too, eventually. :-)

Must win. Can't fall too far behind the pack. Need to win these games against the Eastern teams and the St. Louis game.

I will go with up 3-1 after two periods, lose 5-4 in regulation.
