Chara is a pansy!?!? So since he is a joke, and a pansy, you wouldn't want him on your team right?

He is not the best fighter, but he holds his own against anyone. I wouldn't trade Chara for anyone.

Since we are engaged in "what ifs", Scott should forget Chara and be glad Stan Jonathan didn't get ahold of him.

Scott is the fighter with less to lose, who cares if he went after Chara. Ill tell you all this though, the reaches would be even and Scoot would not look nearly the part he does against Brookbank. It would most likely be a toss up and anything can happen at that point. Chara retired Koci's nose and it prolly wont be the last face he permanently rearranges.

Chara beat Cairns who is/was 6'6.5 and used to be near the top of the heavies.

Chara also beat McKenna (6'8 -250) so he has beat every tall guy he has faced. In this case, I think it would be a draw with both throwing a few then going to the ice. Scott is a scary dude, but there is NO way he is tougher than Chara, and he wouldn't intimidate Chara in the least.

Chara has the advantage of having experience fighting a bunch of really tall guys in his career --Scott has never had to look up to a fighter or had to be in a fight where the other guy had greater or equal reach. I might give Chara the edge actually.

Scott will see Thornton.

Scott escapes McGrattan by moving to the atlantic divisin so his NHL career may be a few games longer.

I'm sure at some point Chara and Scott will happen. But, I would much rather see Thornton or McQuaid.

Chara has been taken down twice by Neil in the past two seasons. People like to bring up Chara beating tall guys, but never mention Neil. Scott takes this. Chara falls if he tries to fight for too long. Scott just needs to stand his ground.

Chara's card for the last 5 years includes: Shelley, Laraque, Koci, Brashear, Cairns, and Ivanans.

Way more impressive card than Scott's, and to top it off he is an actual hockey player.

One on one, if Chara keeps his balance I believe he wins the fight. Unfortunately he has really ****** balance during his fights due to his sheer size, and thus lack of leverage.

EDIT:Rewatched Chara vs Koci. Jack Edwards makes a Red Cross comment as well. Dammit.
I think you should've rewatched the rest of them aswell, with the exception of the Koci fight, I wouldn't be bragging about Chara's fight card the rest don't exactly go the distance. The thing about Scott is, he's a legit heavyweight, who is actually the same size as Chara, even the biggest heavies Chara has gone with usually give up 4-5 inches. If the fight ever happened my guess is Chara bails before things get too hairy, like he did with Laraque and Brashear.

Chara has other things to brag about: A stanley Cup, a Norris award, a HHOF ticket, etc.

Chara has poor balance so the trick is there.

Desharnais and Gionta knock Chara off his feet. So it wouldn't be a great feat for someone like Scott.

Chara doesn't have to fight him.

as much as i don't want to see it, i really want to see it.

people knocking Chara for his balance issues might be in for a surprise. fighting someone his own size and not half a foot shorter can actually be a benefit for balance. call me stupid if you want, but if you watch Chara's fights, against bigger guys balance seems less of an issue.

Chara can be goofy on his skates. I don't blame it on his 'not willing to throw' though. It would be a good scrap.

John Scott is a man child.

Like a bear on skates when he fights. He'd win this pretty easily as long as Chara doesn't get the opportunity to fall on him.

Chara doesn't have to fight him.
But if Tortorella has the last change in NY Scott will be in Chara's face and either make the Bruins take him off the ice or force Chara to skate away from any scrum. The Rangers lead the league in fights for a reason and a big part of that is Tortorella putting his fighters out there deliberately to force the other team to respond or back down.

If I'm Chara I don't rise to the bait with the POs almost upon us.

I think I'll give Scott the edge if it's a staged fight. Chara just can't stay on his skates when fighting.

Now, if John Scott is fighting Angry Chara...

I sad

That being said, I would bet on Scott.

I firmly believe they are going square off eventually. Chara is willing to fight top heavyweights and I bet he isn't going to back down when challenged just because the trade off would be awful for his team. It will be a boring fight though, like most of Chara's fights, and will end Chara losing his balance or trying to "body slam" (in Jack Edward's words) Scott down to the ice.

Neil can't stand and throw them with a guy that big, he's happy to stay in tight and take him down. I'm not sure neil landed a punch in that last fight.

John Scott is a clown and the type of player this league doesn't need, Also, if the rangers want to play him over someone who can't actually play, I'm fine with it.
