He wont leave unless he wants to or we run into some major financial problems....Plus i just dont see Pleks as a number one centre, a number 2 maybe, but number 1 is stretching it imo......

So with that in mind, were back to choosing one between Pleks and Ribs......
i am ok with the way you see it, exept that Koivu is going to cost a lot of $$$ .Plecanek not...if he's like you said , i am sure that the management is going to trade koivu to add a missing kind of player or to cut the payroll .

My turn to assume: In 2 years, if Plekanec replaces Koivu, it will be as the team's number 2 center because Ribeiro will be well implented as the Habs' number 1 and go-to guy. I know a lot of people will bash me for saying this but that's all right, I can take it.

If they are the same in offensive production i would definatetly take Plekanec. He hits more and is more defensive then Ribiero is.

For me,

You guessed it, Pleks. If Pleks ever becomes as good as Ribs offensively, he will become a better player. Hes already got more speed. Hes got a size advantage (weight), and hes much stronger down low with his legs. Hes also a more complete player when it comes to defense, add to that, hes gritier and plays a some what dirty game according to Montreal and other posters. Also hes a determined player as most posters seem to agree that hes often the hardest working player on the ice. I dont think the same can be said for Ribs yet or in his past..........

Plus The kids got balls..........
