My bet is Huberdeau or Hamilton.
Harrington and Jenner round out the four letters. Strome and Scheifele aren't bad choices either, any returning player. Huberdeau would be my bet for captain. And I totally forgot about RNH.

Thought Leivo played good enough to get an invite. Ah well, tough competition.

Nice to see that Mac and Drouin both got an invite.

Visentin played in 2 world juniors and had 1 bad period, yet he gets punished. he was phenomenal against the Americans in 2011, and the Finns last year
That one bad period he cracked huge and did you see how many goals he let in some of them should not have went in at all. He should get all the crap he played like crap in that one period. Hes good but he cant handle pressure. I dont have to worry about watching that happen again i can watch a goalie who can handle it.

I'm glad Drouin got invited. Hopefully they keep him and Mackinnon together on a line at camp. If they both light it up in camp, there may be a chance Drouin could make the team.

Even though RNH wasent there last year he should be the Captain, he is the guy you look to when you need a big play, he is a great leader, has NHL experience, and will play all situations. No brainer.

Surprises

I'm really surprised the Dumba got an invite. I watched all of the Subway super series and I have not seen a D-man give away the puck so often in a long time. In one game he had 5 giveaways and 3 goals against. Morgan Reilly on the other hand, was fantastic and I really hope he makes the team.

Being picked in the 1st round doesnt automaticly gets you an invite. PLayers taken even higher in the draft didnt get invited either.

Valid points, although there are many guys who could lead this team. Nuge would be the no-brainer selection.

The entire team gets the blame for that meltdown, from the coach right on down to the bus driver. Hell, I'll even blame the Gatorade commercials for that meltdown.

Reilly is pretty much a lock. Him and Hamilton might even be the first pairing.

It wasnt as if he dropped a floating puck from center ice like Jake Allen did the year before.

1st Russian goal is at 4:08.... Tarasenko alone 10 feet in front of Visentin with no man in the way.
2nd goal was weak I give you that, but Ryan Ellis was a pylon on the play as well, swinging his stick wildly.
3rd goal Tarasenko left alone again, as De Haan was taking no one in front of the net, and the Russian skating behind him forced Cowen to briefly move away from Tarasenko, leaving him open for the cross ice one timer
4th goal Gudbranson turns it over, Howden fails to clear the zone, the Russian behind the net throws it in fromt, his Depres' stick and goes in the net

Except that he's never captained anything of importance before. A guy who's been there and done that is a better choice. Hamilton or Huberdeau for example.

But that was just 2 games. You wouldn't invite someone based on 2 games?

He was terrible that game, but nevertheless, that was ONE game. He's done enough over the past couple of years to earn a camp invite and it is in his own hands from here.

I feel as if Murphy and Harrington are getting invites because they were previously on the team. There are better players that did not get the call.

what has Hamilton ever captained? and Huberdeau captained one of the most stacked teams in recent history to the Memorial Cup, its not as if they are superior leaders to RNH which I dont believe they are. When Huberdeau was captaining his stacked team RNH was putting up PPG on the 29th worst team in the NHL.
