If the Islanders sack Capuano at season's end, or (Todd) Richards isn't re-signed by Columbus, then you may as well add these two teams to the list of possible takers for Roy. Mind you, Colorado and Montreal are both advantaged compared to NYI or CBJ...

Pulling the goalie down 3 seems like a panic move... oh wait it's just Sacco coaching.

Stranger things than Roy coaching the Islanders or the Blue Jackets have happened...

Like PL resigning Sacco if he can't bring in his buddy Roy in the offseason.

Not happening. Roy would never coach one of those teams.

Well if Sacco is going to be fired you would have to think it would come tomorrow or the following day after the Minny game.

What's left to lose at that point?

If we get killed by Minny, Sacco just has to be gone, he just has to be...right? ...please?

Only 16 games to go and we're 3 points out of a playoff spot, Sacco isn't getting fired. We could lose 7-0 tomorrow and he would still be the coach.

The fans and the team is stuck with him til at least the end of the season. No way they pull a toronto and switch coaches this late into the season. I wonder if they have an agreement with Roy and is the reason why they don't want to promote someone only to demote or fire the guy at season's end.

Stop dreaming guys. Sherman/Sakic/PL and the Kroenkes aren't gonna fire Sacco this late in the season.

Down by one goal late in the third period, and our defensemen bring the puck behind the net and slap it for icing. Absolutely pathetic. Blues are leading the Western division and we have just as talented core as they do. I'm so ****ing sick of being held back by this scrub coach. If he is still employed next year I'm going to stop following the Avs.

That is Sacco's fault? Do you think he said "Listen guys, we're losing here, so we need to tke the back behind our own net, wait 30 seconds, and then hammer it down the ice for icing?"

Yeah, I do.

He won't say anything about the number of times defensemen just hammered the puck for icing after the game, he won't talk about creating options for defensemen that aren't carrying the puck up the ice for offsides. He won't do anything about it. I'm sick of losing games we can clearly win.

The Sacco haters are always so funny. Sure the guy isn't the greatest coach...but blaming him for Hejda slamming it down the ice is ****ing ridiculous.

Can we blame him for the retarded decision not to play arguably the best defensive D man on the team, and the best shot blocking and net clearing guy, in favor of a guy who should be in the AHL because he's a liability defensively?

Or putting out Mark 40% Olver on a defensive zone draw so he can lose it cleanly and get scored on? No previous icing as an excuse either.

Both those decisions cost the Avs two goals tonight.

We should be using McClement on the 3rd and Malone on the 4th as centers right now, I don't understand why people think Olver is a good center.

Unfortunately we've now got an abundance of average players so calling up Malone isn't much of an option it seems.

Maybe Mueller would be a better center? Otherwise I'd double shift one of our 3 guys and rotate the wingers at this point.

I don't see Malone as a center in the NHL.

Maybe not, but he'd be better suited to the 4th line and allow us to keep responsible guys centering the top 3.

He struggles mightily in the faceoff circle (1 won out of 8 taken), maybe if someone takes them insted of him, but I'm not sure who might be that someone. Our other regular 4th liners McLeod and Kobasew aren't exactly good at taking faceoffs either.

I pretty much see him as an improved version of McLeod. The hope is we retain our center corps of O'Reilly/Duchene/Stastny/McClement. All four of them have proven to be at least capable on faceoffs.

If McLeod is re-signed, fine, but I hope more often than not he's the extra forward.
