Probably, if we're lucky they'll demand to get out of dodge, and then things can really turn around

Hemsky really hurt us this game, we might as well not even dress him. So sad, he was my fav player for a lot of years.

Well... at least there was more compete tonight. I'm really sick of this team never being able to tie a game up. I've said this before, I know it's rare, but it's not unheard of. Seriously, the Oilers must be the worst team over the past 4-5 years at scoring with the goalie pulled. And yeah Hemsky needs to get his head out of his ass. Horrible decisions with the puck all night. Peckham is a terrible hockey player right now. How many stupid penalties does this guy take? Looking bewildered afterwards doesn't help your case.

That being said, at least the compete level was about 10 notches higher then it has been in recent losses. The Oilers actually played a competitive game. Pushed back all night, controlled the play often. Just had too many lapses in judgement.

i guess I'm the only guy that thinks Peckham was victimized by a tough call from a ref making a 'nobody dman hits Thornton, tweet' call.

as for Hemmer. just doesn't have it

I think Hemsky will turn the corner. he's not scoring, but neither are belanger and horcoff and smyth and a bunch of others. At least he is not causing goals?

Also...at least there was effort today? Blurgh our team is so mediocre. my suggestion is to get bigger and stronger. they're all push-overs right now, and the vets (including hemsky) are sadly bringing the team down.

Jonesy is a beaut

As soon as they get on the bus and comfortable in their seats, the driver changes the destination sign to Oklahoma..

We didn't get many breaks tonight either, the last few minutes everything almost changed for our outcome..

Poor Hemsky he's just spiralling.. eegads he needs a point or two soon.

The effort was at times sporadic because of the brain cramps especially from the defense.

Yep, this.

Too many bad players on this team. If the kids don't win the game on their own they have almost no chance.

In before "this player sucks" and "that player blows".

To be honest, I thought this was a hell of an effort, on the road, against one of the better teams in the league. If the team plays like this every night, they still might not win every game or even most, but it will be infinitely more fun to watch. This was a huge step forward after the past two games at least, that's for damn sure.

And as for Hemsky, I thought he played a better game than any of his past 3 or 4, so I can't understand all of the criticism about his game tonight, unless it's some kind of pent up anger over the past few games, and frustration compounding it because of yet another loss. He wasn't part of the problem tonight. Actually, outside of Peckham, I can't think of one player who had a "bad" game. At worst, everybody else was average in my eyes.

I've thrown in the towel of hope. Time to start the "stinkorenko for grigorenko".

At least we'd get 110% for 60 minutes, 82 games a season

A better effort, but still, not good enough. We severely need to upgrade our D, especially if Whitney is gonna contribute so little. Hemsky showed a bit in the third, but still, overall, it looks like he's checked out.

Good game by a a hand full of guys, Jones, Khabi, Hall, Eberle...

Have the Oilers tied a game late in the last five years?

Pretty much this. If not for a few brain cramps we would've at least had a point. But it was much more watchable than the past two games.

It's disappointing to lose but not angering like the Calgary or Phoenix game.

Sorry, but they're not. Not this year. And Thornton? Slump. Havlat? Slump.

But that changes when the losers come into town.

Agreed, the game was fun to watch. Disappointed in the result, but it didn't make me pissed off and want to destroy my TV.

You can't throw a player to the ice 2 seconds after they've passed it away. Peckham I believe is tied for the lead league now in minor penalties. For a guy who doesn't really bring much to the game that is unacceptable.

For Hemsky, if this is a better game, then he's in trouble. Plays were dying on his stick left right and centre.
