When it was announced that it was 6-8 weeks, I kinda joked that it was gonna be 10-12 weeks because it's Marty Havlat and I guess I was right. Not only is he injury-prone, but to make matters worse, he's also a slow healer.

To be fair, the team was never really all that firm with six to eight weeks as the time for return. Someone took a guess and they pretty much said that's about right.

That and 8 weeks is what, Feb 21st or so? He's going to spend some time in Worcester (most likely) on a conditioning stint so playing in San Jose in early to mid March isn't really all that far off - maybe a week or two.

I doubt he gets a conditioning stint, highly.

If that happens, no need to rush Havlat back - mid-March is fine.

I think Havlat needs as many games as he can get under his belt. He still has to get used to linemates and maybe even new ones as the deadline looms. The sooner he gets back, the better.
