EWING THEORY:

1: A star athlete receives an inordinate amount of media attention and fan interest, and yet his teams never win anything substantial with him (other than maybe some early-round playoff series).

2:That same athlete leaves his team (either by injury, trade, graduation, free agency or retirement) — and both the media and fans immediately write off the team for the following season.

Excerpted from Bill Simmons’ “Ewing Theory 101” column (last updated July 21, 2009)

I want the first pick of the 2012 draft but that fourth Bleu goal was embarrassing.. the darn Jackets had the lead in this game! Why can't they hold it!

The Jacket defense is at least half of the goalie problem. btw, Sanford should have started tonight regardless of the two decent games by Mason prior to this one.

My mistake.

A lot of fanboys get mad when you call out 'their' player.

Why does every Jacket have to stop the puck and wind up for a slap shot instead of taking a one-timer? By the time they've settled the puck, the opening is gone.

The Mason factor, he doesn't make saves that most goalies make or the defense doesn't play as well in front of him as they do Sanford or both. In any event we are 4-13-1 when he's in goal.

Yes. And when the player leaves, the team winds up competing. Nash?

More "Mason Factor," Tkcjams, he should never get the net again. Forget sending Dex to Springfield, he's got to be better than this, even with a groin pull.

Gotta be honest. I turned on the game in the first period, St. Louis scored two goals in like a buck-five or something, and I turned it back off. I had stuff to do around the house and I didn't need to be depressed by the game after a great day of watching football.

So when can we expect firings to be announced?

Toots shoots it into his own teammate at darn near point blank range and the rush leads to a soft goal given up by Mason....that about summarizes this team.

Keep in mind that we scored as Wiz was struggling to the bench so he'll get a plus for that. Addition by subtraction .
