his PPG for december is on pace with his PPG from November. His +/- has gone from E in November to -5 for December...and if a -5 is the sole indication of 'slipping' then I don't know what to say.
has he been burned a lot? yeah, that has happened the ENTIRE season.
Everson could use a break too, his writing has been slipping
This is a 19 year old ****ing rookie who is playing 20 minutes a night.....if mistakes weren't expected well then it furthermore confirms Everson is laughable at best
The "reload" bit would have worried me, except for the fact that this is Everson, who writes with the intent to generate publicity for this articles first and foremost (facts come in 2nd).
Sad to hear about the circumstances. Missing the 2 games will be good for him. Gets a quick breather to possibly avoid really hitting a rookie wall, lets him get his personal life in order so that he can probably deal with this, and also helps to avoid the possibility of him being too homesick (if that has been an issue at all). Obviously not opposed to him missing the games, as this circumstance definitely takes priority over hockey. But I'm completely content with the timing of him missing these games in terms of how it will impact his play this season.
This league ****ing disgusts me. How the ****K can you look at that play and have nothing come of it?
The fact of the matter is that larsson put himself in a vulnerable position thus the onus is on cole to let up or avoid the hit completely. But no, he goes right at larsson's ****ing head.
****ING SICKENING. But hey, it's not like concussions are a problem in this league

Brooksie? Is that you?

Sure, Shanny, give Erik Cole a freebie on Adam Larsson's head. Why not? It's not as if concussions are a problem for NHL.

Tell them Boyes did. For something less serious. Watch the response then. I`m sure they will find something.

Sorry, didn't mean to steal brooks' material.....just a daily rant of mine
I wouldnt give Cole a suspension for that hit either.
It would be interesting to have tons of NHL hockey fans view the hit, then divide them up by what team they root for.
My guess?
Twenty-nine team's fans would majority say "no suspension"
and Devils' fans would say "suspension".
Just my $0.02.
Smaller sample size (a couple of hundreds posters), but our local boards are mixed (all NHL teams, Czechs and Slovaks) and the board is torn on that one.
Speaks volumes IMO. Mostly because of the inconsistency in rulings though.
he's been bad defensively, and that's just a fact. i suspect that if he hadn't just been drafted 4th overall this entire board would be all over him.
You'd suspect incorrectly.
I'm guessing a vast majority of us recognize that a 19 year old child, on a new continent for an extended stay for the first time, attempting to learn on the job the toughest position in the game, at the highest level of the world, will be inconsistent.
As is, he is the #1 minutes eater on D for a playoff team (as of today).
For those who equate actual living, breathing human beings playing in the NHL with animated figures in some video game or robots, then yes, perhaps the absurd urge to "be all over him" might apply.
Having high standards for player is commendable. Unrealistic expectations are silly. I am at a loss as to how anyone could be less than extremely happy with Larssons work through the first 12 weeks of his NHL career.

For what it is worth (nothing), I agree. But my sensisbilites and that of the Nu NHL, and Nu NHL fans, is often diametrically opposite.
so you're happy his grandma died instead of him having a concussion? i know you didn't mean it that way but lol
Obviously I'm not happy his grandmother died, but when you see a headline that he might miss games, and he took a shot to the head last night, the first thought that comes to mind is that he might have a concussion. I'm glad that's not the case, and he is healthy.

Overall I'm extremely happy with his overall game; however, the past few games he's made some big blunders that weren't present in the first 15 games or so
