When Hammer got suspended we all agreed that he should have. The argument centered around intent. I really don't get it.

Bourque should be suspended, but the ref getting in the way definitely had a part in that. Otherwise Seabs shoulders wouldn't have turned causing him to be thrown head-first into the boards. Clearly that was a bad hit by Bourque, though, because he was following him from behind, watching his numbers the entire time.

Seabs is traveling. Can't be anything too serious. He's got a big head.

Borque gets a 2 game suspension. What a dirt bag. He could now go back into hibernation until the next Hawks game.

Yeah, either that or his balls, depends on how you look at it.

There's a small group of players in this league that are just a different breed. Seabrook falls into that group. We wouldn't doubt his ability to come back quick from a rough hit or a concussion; we're smarter than that.

Concussions have nothing to do with balls, no matter how much you want it to be. Colby Armstrong tried to hide his concussion from the doctors and trainers, but ended up puking and having blurry vision. Hopefully this is not the case with Seabs and he passed all the necessary tests.

My point is if every player stayed out until he was 100% symptom free, and I'm talking about the slightest symptoms, not puking and blindness, then you'd have seemingly half the players in the league sitting out with concussions. Evidence: National Hockey League

Solution: Slow the game down, increase rink size or deal with players dropping like flies.

I appreciate the league looking out for its players, but did you ever noticed how Pittsburgh has by far the most guys going down with concussions? Have you ever noticed that Pittsburgh is the leading center for concussions and concussion research? At the end of the day, the player has to choose whether to play or not and if the doctors say he passed his test, then the player can choose to play (Seabrook) or sit out (Crosby). You can't fault either, they are the ones that will live with their decisions and the ramifications both on and off the ice. Props to Seabrook though, he's one of the toughest players I've had the privilage of watching play for the Hawks.

Concussions have nothing to do with a player's toughness, balls, or what kind of skull he has. They are caused by the sudden impact of the brain hitting against the inside of the skull...a concussion is literally a bruise to the brain and can cause impaired vision, headaches, dizziness, loss of awareness of surroundings, etc. And if a player tries to play through these symptoms, he is putting himself at a higher risk of getting hit again even worse.

Glad (hope) Seabs didn't suffer another concussion and can play tonight.

False. A concussion isn't "a bruise of the brain". Also, Some people will get concussions from things other people wouldn't.

OK, just read up on it and you are correct...it has more to do with the brain movement causing a disruption in normal cellular actvity.

Nothing soft about being out with a concussion. They ended my playing career - along with a bad right knee - and took about a year and change before I was 100% symptom free.
