i'm actually a little surprised this hasnt been done yet. cast your vote, did we get the better of phx in the turris trade? seems like opinion is largely against the trade, but i'd like to see the numbers...

I'd say fair trade in terms of players but PHX wins because bidding wars made us throw in an extra pick, a high one at that.

Both high potential, unproven, and need a lot of work.

I'm pretty sure there's 2 or 3 threads on the Sens board alone that will answer your question.

I voted not sure. This whole fascination with declaring winners and losers without either player playing a game is a silly aspect of fandom, actual hockey people don't think like this.

Can the next thread be "who has dreamier eyes?"

Or better yet, how about another Michalek/Heatley thread?

Brilliant idea. I'm surprised no one's talking about the Turris trade already on the forums!?

Just realized I can't even vote anyways. This trade caused me to get several infractions, so... you know my answer.

I don't think we have enough threads about Turris yet.

As long as people dont make their own threads about Turris we will be okay.

Seriously. 100% not useful in any way. Right now, I think we gave up too much, but let's wait even until we've seen one game before we try to decide for sure.

Lets wait until we've seen a chunk of games...like 20-40 before we jump to any early conclusions.

This poll is just premature.

So who's bought a Turris jersey?

Is this the right thread?

The more I think about it the more I feel it's a bust-for-bust kind of trade.
Rundblad will be on a very short leash in insanely deep Phoenix defence pool and he'll be back in Sweden next year. Turris will end up being another Regin.
2nd rounder is what makes the difference.

The answer is spilled over in the other threads.

The answer could change as soon as one or two weeks.

And it could change back and forth for a long time after that.

There's no way anyone but the Coyotes won this trade until proven otherwise.

If anyone had suggested Rundblad + 2nd rounder for Turris last week, I would have laughed. Given all the drama with his current team and GM, and the fact that he's put up a whopping 0 points this season, Turris's value should have been something like Weircioch + 3rd rounder.

Until Turris comes in and scores 70 points, we got ripped off given the value Rundblad held around the league. I won't try and justify the trade until we see results.

The problem is people think Rundblad's worth a 70 point player at the moment.

We got an unproven commodity and we gave up an unproven commodity. I'm in no way trying to say we won this trade...but saying we lost it before anything has happened is just foolish.

They made this trade because they think it will make us better....we can't determine that yet. If Turris comes in and played 10 minutes a night and no PP time, we lost the deal.

If he's a 2nd center that scores, we got the guy we wanted.

It's funny because we're so fast to decide we lost the trade, in the short term, the teams better by subtraction, and I actually think Turris will score.

I'd say in the short(immediate) term we won.

We potentially fill a hole while giving up a defenceman who wasn't playing much here and would have been in Bingo by next week (assuming he'd even agree to go).

Long term who knows ?

Hard to say right now and it could be quite some time before we see.

Rundblad was one of my favorite prospects but I can't say that I'm not a little excited to see what Turris can bring to the team.

Way too early for this thread. Let them both play some games with their new teams first.

Phoenix definitely is a winner with this deal. Rundblad and a 2nd is great return for a player who wants out.

Whether we make this a win-win or not remains to be seen.

Turris is a brat and we needed a d-man more than we needed a forward. Props to Coyotes and thumbs down to Murray.

Turris has an absolute laser of a shot. Can't wait to see this kid play!

Until Kuba, Gonch, MM9 get back, this is what i'd like to see:

Greening - Spez - Butler
Regin - Turris - Alfie
Foligno - Smith - Condra
K-Dawg - Winny - Neil

Cowen - Karlsson
Phillips - Lee
Wiercioch (is he fit?) - Carkner
