I was just thinking this exact same thing during the Anaheim game.

In the parlance of HF boards poll posters "Dustin Brown and it's not even close"

I'm not sure I can handle seeing these two names in such close proximity to each other. I think I'm going with Brown but this is the most difficult poll question I've ever seen on here.

I don't know why, but I kind of like Dustin Brown for some odd reason...

I loathe Dustin Brown. I only have a mild dislike for Perry who, as a sports fan I can at least appreciate his skills.

I don't mind Perry. I absoulutely hate Brown though. He's the worst diver in the league by a healthy margine, he's a coward, and to make it worse he's their captain.

I prefer Brown over Perry. Perry should be too skilled to do what he does on the ice, getting opposing fanbases all riled up and creating threads like this.

Yet he still takes the time to do it.

I can deal with Perry since hes a good player who can be fun to watch. He also doesnt run guys or dive as much as brown seems to.

But see here's the thing: I think Brown actually does it less than Perry. It's just more noticeable. Brown stores it all up and then releases his diving energy in one big theatrical production designed for maximum effect. With Perry it's just a constant stream of embellishment on nearly any kind of contact with an opposing player.

i picked brown.

despite my absolute distaste for anything to do with anaheim. (i'll mention here that i never once went to disneyland during the ~11 years i was there.)

despite his former place as my favorite l.a. king, back when he was not corrupted by the diving bug and was a hitting machine.

to me, perry performs his shenanigans with an air of toughness, in the corners, in front of the net, and such. there doesn't seem to be much physicality going on when brown does his crap.

also, as someone else mentioned, what puts it over the top is his role as team captain. (which is why i wouldn't want ott as the stars captain any time soon, although it seems that ott has cleaned his act up a bit this year.)

Ott is a pretty clean player when in a top 6 role. He doesn't deserve to be in the same paragraph as Brown and Perry in this instance.

Perry, an incredibly good hockey player but a very good agitator as well!

Perry is annoying, but he was vastly more skill that Brown. Dustin Brown is a captain and his style of play is just egregious to watch. It amazes me that the refs continue to give him his overly dramatic embellished dives game in and game out. He's a disgrace to the game.

If anyone finds a video of Brown's dive tonight against Dallas, please post it. I have a Kings fan on another forum I frequent who literally had no idea Brown has a rap for diving.

Cannot stand Perry. Brown has as many hits as dives but at least he hits. Perry does a lot of stick work and yaps.

I love how this thread pops up every time we play either one of them.

Voted Perry from the get-go, and I stand by it.

Brown is more of a joke. He's a diver. A "power forward" who won't fight.

Perry is dirty and whiny.

Perry is a worse guy to have to deal with.
