Is buying my own cable modem worth it, or is the one Comcast gives me doing the same thing for about the same price? I see some modems for sale for a little and some for a lot and don't know if it saves money or does more stuff or what the deal is. Anyone got any insight on this?

Depends on whether or not you want to rent the modem from them, and how long you plan on doing it.
On another note: Garlic bread is humanity's most underrated achievement.

That's what I'm saying, is it worth it to buy your own instead of leasing it? I have been leasing my modem for a while and didn't even consider every buying one but I saw one for like $90 and figured maybe it was worth it, unless there are some kind of restrictions with non-comcast issued modems.

I'm not sure if they'd recognize the device or whatever. That could be an issue.
So, any local Catholic School kids from Philly? Whose schools survived and who got cut?
I went to St Joes Prep. Talk about strange, I hated Bonner when I went to the Prep and now I feel so bad for the kids that are getting screwed out of their high school experience.

You can buy your own and in the long run that is the cheaper way to go. All you have to do is call them with the modem's MAC address so that they can set it up in their system.
Apparently a lot of things are going down tonight in response to MegaUpload while other filesharing clouds are about to crumble.
Those dudes need to be careful. If they ever get caught they are going to be facing a lot of trouble. They are wasting their time. They should put their skills to use and make some cool video games or something!

99.9% of them are just script kiddies that have no idea what to do on the computer..
And i did my brother's paper the other day.. He goes to frankford... His teacher is apparently an idiot..
She said this was a correct sentence : "the Job Outlook for law enforcement officers is currently looking growing need"
I understand anonymous attacking some things, but getting up in arms about sites (filehosts I guess?) being taken down that we all know were heavily involved allowing people to illegally watch content seems silly to me. It is actually illegal and there is a decent reason for it. I could understand people being upset if most of what was available via megaupload/megavideo and filesonic was stuff that was 40+ years ol d (I think the Millenium Act said that it takes 80 years before something becomes part of the public domain?) which probably already made a decent amount of money, but you could find movies that came out a week ago and a tv shows that aired several hours earlier. I'm not saying I support it, but on the other hand no one should feel entitled to have that stuff- at least the newer stuff (let's say within at least 30 years).
