Is Dupuis Wilson's secret son or something? Christ.

I bet Kessel starts scoring regularly again with Connolly on his line now.

I'm hoping to see a Frattin - Bozak - Armstrong line at some point tonight.

Leafs really need a big win tonight, losers of 4 of their last 5 games is not something to get excited about heading into Christmas.

With Kings in the middle of a coaching switch shake-up is a great opportunity for Leafs to exploit.

Why not? He needs to get going. Gus has been better lately, but they made a commitment to Reimer as the number one.

yeah, we may lose just because of him. hopefully he snaps back into the Reimer from last year, he has been bad.

like the lines, tho I can't wait to get Brown or Lombardi back to replace Dupuis, just so I don't have to hear anymore b!tching about him.

Don't see why people are wuestioning Wilson's decision to start Reimer, he's the #1 goaltender, do you think he's going to get back into the form he was in last year by riding pine?

Exactly. He earned the no.1 title for a reason, some folks have short term memory...

There's been a drop off in goals lately.

For one game? yes actually. Showing him he won't just be handed starts if the other goalie is playing better, can greatly increase his drive and skill level next time he plays. This is exactly why I was excited for this year so that each goalie could push each other. Gus' 'riding pine' seemed to work quite well, I don't see why a few deserved starts the other way would hinder Reimer's career..

He did comment that teams are starting to zero in on him/lupul as they're one of top duo's in league right now. Naturally, it's to be expected and I'm sure they'll find ways to overcome this.

The guy is gonna have drop offs. The best goal scorers in the league encounter the same thing without fail.

It's very simple, really. Basically:

• We need points
• Reimer has not been getting us points
• Gustavsson has been getting us points

Winning is more important at the moment, and Gustavsson currently provides us with our best chance to do so. I love Reimer and I'm not turning on him or anything of the sort, but he's being quite out-performed at the moment.

Also, didn't Wilson say that this was a meritocracy? Whatever happened to that?

I'd agree, but it's not like Gustavsson has been stealing games. He's been good, but not great.

The entire goaltending situation is up in the air, so I won't complain about Wilson starting a slumping Reimer.

The sooner Reimer shakes off his rust, the better. Only way to do that is play him. He hasn't even been that bad. .936 SV% 5 on 5.. and you can only pin one PP goal on Reimer directly, and that was after 10 minutes straight of PPs in Buffalo.

Compared to goaltending of years past, getting on Reimer makes zero sense.

There's no question that this game is huge for our team. We need to come out strong and stop turning the puck over so damn much in our end. I can accept one or two bad passes when we're trying to create something in the offenisve end but all turnovers in our own end is really hurting us. Play it safe and make sure that you get the puck deep before you are trying to be over creative.

I have already taken my stand in the Gus vs Reimer situation. There's no secret that I would have prefered Gus in net tonight but now when Optimus is in, I really hope that he can play as good as he did last year to earn our trust again. We all know that he has the ability to play great but it's time for him to actually step up and do that this season as well.

I'm really hoping for a big game from James and a comfortable win tonight, we really need it!

GO LEAFS GO!
