His character in Goon was just so annoying, but I thought he put together a pretty good movie.

It was fun picking up on who was who was who in the locker room though.
LaFlamme = Mike Ribeiro
The Russian Brothers = The Kostitsyn Brothers (obviously)
The Goalie = Dan Cloutier (loved the Beach Ball bit)
Ross Rhea = Bob Probert (At least Liev Schreiber admitted to copying his fighting and mannerisms such as taped wrists)

Rob Ray was what I figured for Rhea (same name?)

Totally different vibe. It's more the story of one player than it is the story of a team. It almost can be seen as a 90 minute argument as to why fighting should still be in the league. (And I'm someone who hates fighting and enjoyed the movie)

I watched it with my wife who's a fan of hockey and she couldn't stop laughing at Doug Glatt's line "Why are you crying, did you just watch Rudy?" She said she was thinking to herself minutes before that this movie was like a funny version of Rudy.

I thought it was a terrible movie, its portrayal of hockey was brutal, it portrayed all hockey players as dumb as if they have had 10 concussions, the last fight was a scene from rocky, it was just overall bad and not worth wasting your time on.

Please forgive me if this point has already been made, but.....

This wasn't a documentary..... it was a movie, some scenes do not contain realism.

Everyone's idea of humour is different I guess. I found it funny, will probably watch it again at a later date.

To me, Goon is the best hockey movie ever period. It has similarities to Slap Shot, but it's so much more than a hockey movie. It has a great storyline, lots and lots of great punchline, I can't remember the last time I laughed so much watching a movie. The cast is fantastic, Jay Baruchel is so funny and also co-wrote the movie and it's a great comeback for Sean William Scott and to me this is his best work yet. Also Marc-André Grondin is spot on as always. This is a must watch !!!

Seriously, what is it about hockey that the fans get so insecure. You don't seem to find this type in other sports, even nascar fans embraced*Ricky Bobby.*
Is it a Canadian thing?

Why insecure? Some hockeyfans are interested in hockey and couldn't care less what other leagues are doing so why the surprise?

Didn't have time to watch it but for sure will do I'm expecting an average money with some sort of behind the scenes in terms of enforcers documentation.
