Perreault, Holtby, Orlov, Eakin, Neuvirth - seems like a pretty solid amount of guys, probably far from the worst amount of guys making the NHL from 2nd or later rounds...

Except all of those players other than Neuvy have yet to secure an NHL job.

You could make that same argument for Jonathan Huberdeau and Kuznetsov. They haven't secured a job yet. Does that mean they aren't a success? No.

You can go back and forth all day with names. Some of his best moves fell on his lap. And the Russian factor came into play with a few guys. All and all I would say he great at gathering talent and knows nothing about what it takes to win.

Edit: The one that really hurts me is Anton Gustafsson over Jordan Eberle.

Didn't Gustafsson only play 1 or 2 games in Hershey before leaving? What a bust.

Yeah we only ended up with some scrub named John Carlson from that draft...

In hindsight Eberle looks obvious. Unless on draft day you wanted him I don't really think you can complain. Plus if we took Eberle the oilers may have taken Carlson. Which I'd rather Carlson 10/10

That draft was before the Legendary WJC that Eberle had. Im sure if it was after he would have been a top 10 pick.
Plus, take Eberle over Gus and Carlson may not be available.

Only thing that annoys me about Bustafsson is that we moved up to get him because we were afraid the Oilers were going to pick him.

Ironically, Oilers fans were mortified we moved up to pick Eberle.

At this point I don't really care about Kuz's production at WJC. I care about his contract status, health, and willingness to come over. The talent is there.

I have any avatar bet on another forum that he puts up more points than Yakupov, so I care.

Sounds like fasthockey.com will be streaming the WJC for free (registration required) with the exception of blacked out US games for those in the states. Read elsewhere that NHL.com is supposed to have streams up for the US games. Not sure if there are similar blackout restrictions for others but worth a try.

Kuznetsov to reportedly play with Apalkov & Kosov vs. Switzerland.

I must have missed his NHL debut....prospects, even Kuznetsov, are just that until they prove they can play in the NHL

history if filled with great young, skilled players that looked great everywhere excpet the NHL...

Smith-Pelly already done for the tournament with an injury and Maatta out with a concussion after a Jenner hit. I only watched about ten minutes of the Sweden-Latvia game but Girgensons was playing LW and Collberg was more noticeable than Forsberg.

I thought Forsberg looked really good. Really good with the puck on his stick. Can't teach some of the moves he was making. Collberg did have a nice finish on his goal.

Team Canada gets some serious leeway with calls. Pretty bad when TSN annoucers calling out that there shouldn't be a tv timeout after an icing too.
