Getzlaf for Krejci+Hamilton.

Though I don't actually see why the Bruins would do this but I think the value is fair. Gatzlaf is a very special player.

How many deal involving RPG have been well recieved by Ducks fans?

Krejci for Ryan is about the only 1.
Why was that well-received? Ryan's a significantly better player than Krejci.

Something BASED around those players. Not them alone exactly.

I wouldnt be happy with this, Hamilton is a great prospect, but still probably a couple of years from possibly being a solid contributor. Ducks would require another solid piece, in order to break up the twins/sell captain/sell it to the fan base.

How? You must've missed Krejci leading the league in playoff scoring last year.

Well, since THAT hasn't carried over to this season in any conceivable way perhaps you should look at their entire careers and compare GPG and PPG then come back if you still need to ask.

We're not moving Getzlaf.

I don't even get why we would try, we'd be getting a worse player in return. You don't trade a top 10 center in the league to give you depth ffs

Would be good asset management to trade him now if an extension can't be completed. Could get a young/cheap future #1 Center plus additional assets while solidifying the tank for this season to acquire a Grigorenko/Yakupov.

He's untouchable unless the Ducks are certain that they can't re-sign him, and that wouldn't happen till next trade deadline (i.e. over a year from now). When you trade a player like Getzlaf you don't get fair value back, so you don't trade him in the first place unless you absolutely have to. He's a franchise center, and young too.

He's not going anywhere, you seem more worried than we are.
Getzlaf is to smart to leave, imagine him on a Canadian team where his laziness would be in the spotlight.

We can't even talk about an extension with him yet, it would be beyond stupid asset management to trade him because he's UFA after NEXT season.

And currently cheap.

Some people don't appreciate just how much luck it takes to draft a guy like Getzlaf. We could have three number one picks in a row and never get a player that equals his talent, even if they are at the upper end of the talent curve.

We don't need to solidify a tank. We've done a good job of that with all our best players in tow. It's idiotic to pass on keeping Getzlaf because we might pick fifth instead of the top 3. There's still going to be incredible talent on offer at that spot.

What even...

Anyway, Getzlaf won't be dealt. As others have said, he is by far the most important piece of their team and he's pretty much irreplaceable. Anyway, they don't need to move Getzlaf to draft 1st overall anyway...

Getzlaf is a legit #1 physical centre who can completely dominate and take over games, just ask Detroit fans.

Grabo is an upcoming UFA.

Schenn is overated. He has huge potentiel and could be a legit shutdown guy but he doesnt have the #1 stuff.

Kulemin has had 1 good year and is on pace for less then 10 goals this season.

The 1st is probably between 12-18 which is not all that huge.

The value is nowhere near the value of a #1 centre.

Nobody is untouchable. Nobody. Gretzky got traded. Anybody can. That being said, the odds of Getzlaf being traded are very low. BUT I'm sure that if sombody were to call ANA and give them an offer worth it, they would trade him in a heartbeat. Hockey is a team sport. One player doesn't make a team, and if they do, then your team has problems.

That also being said, you can be sure that if ANA even considers trading Getzlaf for a moment, Buffalo will be first on the phone. They simply just have so many enticing parts, especially in young prospects that are NHL ready and don't crack the team due to a crowded position (defense) or just not QUITE there yet. Not to mention an extra high second, I'm sure that they would be able to make an offer to to make ANA think long and hard.

But I just don't see it happening until the trade deadline at the earliest. If he gets moved I'm thinking at the trade deadline next year, or mid season next year if extension talks aren't doing well.

Regular season points per game, Ryan is at .77, Krejci is at .71. If You factor in playoffs, Ryan goes down to .76 and Krejci up to .73. Advantage Ryan but to say he's significantly better is a huge overstatement. I'm not trying to knock Ryan at all either. I love him as a player, I just gotta stick up for Krejci and make sure he gets the respect he's earned.

Since Ducks don't want a down payment + say, four 1sts depending upon deal + resigning, then I expect it's gonna take a sign and trade.
