Yep you can say that a stall for getz trade would be the same, anybody that has a top line center wont give him up without getting one in return

Plenty of Toronto fans thought that trading for Lupul would be horrible because of the cap damage that would be done, so please come down off the high horse a bit......not to mention the Ducks management knew from personal experience what Beachemin could do when he was well coached, there's no such familiarity with the other players being mentioned.
Never said to trade him for anyone but for someone to say a team has nothing to offer in a trade is retarded because every team has something to give but some teams have more to give then others. Thats where draft picks come in to play. Toronto would have as good of a chance as other teams in a trade for getzlaf IF he gets traded.

Tarkii cannot just take over Hiller's spot. He could probably handle backup duty to Ellis, but Tarkii is definitely not ready to play lots of games in the NHL. I don't know where people get this idea...

not bad value, but i would think anaheim needs a center going back unless they plan to put koivu as their #1

That depends entirely if the Ducks are blowing it up and restarting or trying to retool to be competitive next year. Draft picks are only highly attractive in one of the two scenarios, and other teams have much better players than Toronto for the other.

Lol that's worse than what I offered. Pysyk has more value than either Weber or Grags.

He proposed the exact same trade, except put in a worse asset than Pysyk lol.

Dave Bolland & Chicago's first rounder 2012 & 2nd rounder 2013 for Getzslaf a bottom 6 or another prospect also could be added

Haha I know, yet only his offer would "get their attention."

It is a lot, but that's what it would probably take to pry Getzlaf out of Anaheim.

He is everything we've ever needed and more. Putting
him between Vanek and Pominville would be insane.

Do Ducks fans think it's good value? It's basically Roy, two young Top 6 wingers, a young puckmover with upside, and a mid 1st in a deep draft..

What makes you think that's close to fair value?

Would love to get him in St.Louis, however I think he's out of our range.

Wow the trade proposals have gotten worse today I see.

-Buffalo fans think their overpaying by offering us small players and Stafford? Ducks do not need to get softer. If you want Getzlaf you know who you have to start with.

-Leaf fans, why on earth would we want Grabo, a soon to be UFA, and Kulemin, a soon to be RFA? Schenn is a nice start but why why why would we trade a franchise player for TWO free agents? use some common sense. How about we give you Koivu and Blake for Kessel? same premise.

I think a safe starting point for someone making us an offer would be to assume it's happening on July 1st. Are the players you're offering under contract? If not, we have no reason to make the trade.

If Getzlaf is available then how is Perry not? I know Perry is the reigning Hart winner, but at that point you think the Ducks would just say **** it.

Getzlaf isn't available though...Dreger is just speculating.

It would be stupid for us to trade both Getz and Perry, specially as one won this trophy called the Hart last season.

I probably wouldnt do this trade but for testing the waters purposes how far off would I be if I offered Stewart Halak, Shattenkirk and a 1st?

We aren't adding another struggling winger like Stewart. Halak is no better than Hiller at the moment. We'd probably shoot those parts down in an offer for Ryan, but with Getzlaf this is even further away from what we need.

If Anaheim looks like they're drafting in the top two they should trade Getzlaf, and go after Grigorenko. Then you have a likely #1 center (very possibly an elite C) to replace Getzlaf, along with all the assets Getzlaf would get in the trade. No doubt Columbus would go after Yakupov so they'd have a great chance at pulling it off.

Or even better... Imagine having Getz as the #1 center and Grigorenko the #2 center :O

On the one hand, it's ridiculous to trade a player as good as Getzlaf.

On the other hand, you'd get substantially more assets if you traded him now as opposed to during the next season (when he's a pending UFA).

Tough call.
