I cant believe Ruff is turning Adam into a winger

Vanek-Roy-Pominville
Adam-Szczechura-Stafford
Foligno-Gaustad-Kassian
Whitmore-Ellis-McCormick

He's played very good hockey with Leino as his center since Thanksgiving week. Adam was not the pivot on that line, he's been on the wing.

Getting him on the scoresheet and not killing them in their defensive zone is better than the alternative of having him continue to struggle in the middle as he did after his hot start. And it wouldn't be the first rookie to break in at an easier position before possibly transitioning to center.

Good news is later in the article:

McNabb in, Grags likely out.

When Grags is on the bench I like our chances a bit more.

He's been skating and working on his conditioning right along, but started stickhandling drills to test it out this week.

And have him cost them goals against like he did against Carolina? Let him build his confidence and then work him back into the middle.

Should really replace the Sabres Emblem with the Amerks since were fairly close to being the Buffalo Amerks of the NHL.

That's one reason I like Adam - Leino- Kassian, because they can give him some work at center when it won't cost us without shuffling the lines. He just needs to swap adam and leino.

Honestly couldn't care less if we win or lose so long as nobody else gets hurt.

Starting lines are irrelevant, especially if we struggle early. If we're down, bet your bottom dollar we see Foligno-Adam-Kassian in the second half of the game.

I love Foligno-Gaustad-Kassian.

Not a fan of Vanek-Roy-Pominville. My guess is due to all the injuries, Ruff just plans on loading up on one line and leaning on them heavily. Does that mean Vanek actually tops 20 min of TOI tonight?

He's running out of options. It's either Roy or Chewy and frankly, Roy is a better fit there than an AHL tweener.

Someone on this team needs to score because the rest of the lineup is stocked with AHLers.

Chewy has been there the last few games, why change now? That line has been far from the problem. Maybe he's trying to jumpstart Roy?

I have some suggestions as to where he can land.

He hasn't handicapped Vanek and Poms but he hasn't really brought anything to the table either. He's filler, like lettuce in a Chipotle burrito.

Roy, despite being mired in a funk, has the talent to play there. Chewy doesn't.
