Anything less than a top notch effort isn't going to get it done. Isles are better than their record (and lack of games played) shows. They beat Minnesota in St Paul a couple nights ago and have only lost three times in regulation over their last 10. Matt Moulson has nine goals over that span and some of their other young guns like Bailey and Okposo have been looking really good. You just know Grabner is going to have an extra gear tonight. He'll be electrifying.

I think it's ridiculous to suggest that the Jets feel they are good enough that they can look past anyone in this league. Claude Noel's comments support my opinion.

A great effort should result in two points tonight, anything less won't.

Thanks as always to Mikos for the top notch article links today.

I spit my coffee all over the place when I read this quote from Blake Wheeler:

We’re hockey players and this is our job,” said Wheeler. “If we’re losing focus because we’re worried about getting our Christmas gifts done or worried about cooking our ham or whatever it is, that’s unacceptable. This is a great time of the year to be a hockey player. That should be our mindset, we should go into the break flying high.”

I love the message Wheels is trying to send here, but I did not know that hockey players worried about cooking their hams around Christmas! THAT'S why Ladd gave the puck away with less than 2 minutes left against the Caps!

At any rate, it's my first time going to a Jets 2.0 game tonight! I am so stoked I am vibrating at work today! Hoping for a good effort and a dub-ya!
Agreed - Saturday's game left a lot to be desired, but it was a hugely emotional game for the fans, and I think the Jets themselves were somewhat over-awed by the display of Teemu-love by the fans. The entire team seemed drained by the end of the game.

After listening to Coach Noel from the presser yesterday, I suspect that motivation isn't going to be an issue.

Have fun at the game!

Somebody needs to start a Pavi, Pavi chant. Or a MSG (Miettinen, Slater, Glass) cheer. I want to hear the crowd on my TV tonight. It's goose-bump inducing when I hear the chanting going.

Very good post and spot on.....The Isles got off to a slow start this year but have been much better lately and like you said "a great effort should result in two points tonight, anything less won't"

My theme song for the Jets.

Looking forward to tonight's game. I'm really hoping Little is alright and can make the lineup.

I'm finally going to my first game tonight! Going to my first game tonight! If I leave 2 1/2 hours before the game, what are my chances of grabbing one of those free after 5:30 parking spots? And, call me a wuss whatever you want, are there Downtown Watch Embassadors walking around the game, just in case I park in a shady area?

If you park within about 3 blocks of MTSC there will be enough people around to lessen the chance of a City Councillor asking you for spare change.

Yes, but don't worry about it. There are downtown watch folks around, but remember that before and after games there are thousands and thousands of people out all over the streets in the area, walking off in all directions. If you're concerned, park more on the south side of MTSC than the north side, but I wouldn't worry either way.

Chances of getting street parking aren't good though, sorry to say.

EDIT: Also -- to JDZ -- so true, LOL.

I'm going to my first game in the upperbowl today, section 312. For how much people say the upperbowl is louder, I better hear some MSG chants.
