Dupuis hasn't been that bad, but Boyce brings more in my opinion.
Dupuis has no points and is -2.

He's part of the reason that our PK is so awful.

Aside from Steckel's face-off ability, he's awful too.

Boyce isn't great but I think he's better than these two clowns and will bring more grit and heart, something the Leafs team lacks.

MacA-Connolly-Kadri

gives us a 4th line of:

Boyce-Dupuis-Crabb

In fact, in another thread it was proven that Dupuis has one of our best GA/Ice time ratio on the PK.

Boyce > Dupuis & Crabb. I'd rather Rosehill on the 4th line than any of Orr, Dupuis or Crabb. A fourth line of Brown Steckel Rosehill/Boyce is a good 4th line.

Not gunna lie im disappointed Nazem didnt get the call, but feel good for Boyce, who deserves it. I imagine Crabb will stay on the 3rd line and Boyce will be on the 4th. The Leaf record with Boyce and Crabb in the lineup is pretty good isnt it?

rosehill - boyce - scott
that might have been the best marlies line this time last yr.

that would make a good 4th line

I personally don't like that line but point taken. Keep in mind that Army's spot also includes the PK. Hopefully Boyce can help although I am not so sure. Kadri would be useless on the PK though in all honesty

I actually suggested that same line last night.

Couldn't hurt to try it.

I also wouldn't mind:

Kadri - Bozak - Frattin

If Wilson was to revert back to the old lines again.

Army hasnt played much PK though. The past couple games the key guys have been:
Bozak -- Crabb
Dupuis -- Kulemin
Grabo

Ideally, if you brought Kadri up, Crabb would go down to the 4th line, and Kadri could play with Bozak and Frattin.

For me, Kadri is an upgrade in the 3rd line from Crabb. And for me, Crabb and Boyce are about the same level anyways, Boyce is a bit more physical and faster. What I dont get is why all 3 arent in the NHL. Crabb and Boyce are both better than Dupuis, I dont care what anyone says.

Reason why Dupuis is up, and Crabb was 1st recall: how they were signed. Dupuis was the UFA, Crabb was the UFA re-signing, Boyce the late RFA signing. Notice how the UFA made the opening lineup, the UFA re-sign was the 1st callup, and the RFA was the latest. Not saying this is how the system works, but its no coincidence

That said Boyce is a hard worker and energy player and ideally suited for 4th line duty, and the player most suited style wise to replace Colby in that role.
Not exactly the same though. Last year those guys were going to get regular minutes regardless, this season they are callups based on injuries. If guys like Lombardi and Army don't go down we don't see these guys.

Seen Boyce a couple of times this year for the Marlies, he was playing real hard nosed gritty hockey.

Should help PK too.

That is a big part of how it works. If GM's could ignore these contract nuances, everybody would be able to do it as it would be an easy job. The way I see our particular situation is that Burke, along with many other GM's, make there major shakeups in January unless forced to move sooner.

Dupuis gets signed and he deserves a fair chance to prove his worth. We have a much larger sample size for Boyce and Crabb. Crabb was the first call up because he was killing the AHL and really deserved it. We are getting to the point where guys run out of time to prove their worth as is true for players on almost every single team.

I think Kadri will either be up or on another team come January and I think that was the loose plan from the moment he got hurt at the beginning of the season.

In regards to the PK, it has been awful. I do not actually think its been a forward issue but more of a defense problem. That being said, maybe Boyce can help. What we have isn't working

i think they are trying to see if kadri can finally go back to the center role now in the AHL.
