12/20/11 - Minnesota @ Calgary - 8:00 PM CST - FSN/Our Canadian Friends Get To Watch

"600 posts to go edition"

It's fitting that tonight's GDT will most likely be the thing which puts the forum past Calgary in total posts. Fitting because the Wild are playing Calgary and also fitting because a game against Calgary in the Saddledome is what the forum is best known for (sidebar: we should probably change that).

Calgary is without Rene Bourque (and fans who want to comment on it - sorry Flames, been there) along with Marc Giordano and Matt Stajan. Without looking anything up, Kipper is probably in the net, Jarome Iginla has already been headbutted by Nick Johnson and another Wild player got injured.

Here's a Flaming C.

Also, there's a "y" at the end of Calgary. Enjoy.

If Mikko is back the wild win 6-0. If he doesn't play wild still win, but only 1-0

Is there any info whether Koivu will be playing or not?

Your flaming C doesn't work.

If Koivu is there it's a win. If he's not the result is up in the air.

Still up in the air on if I give the green circle avatar one last shot to get a win, or if I got with my classic duds tonight.

Chad Rau was sent back to Houston so it seems Koivu will grace us with his presence.

Looking forward to this one. Hopefully Kapitan is ready. Yeo sounded pissed after last night's loss, so I'm hoping that the team comes out firing on all cylinders, with Rau included. Here's to Harding starting, by the way. He deserves one.

Oh, and **** Iginla

Edit: Squidz crushes my hopes and dreams of seeing Rau mere moments before I publish them.

Falk, Zanon in. Lundin out. Koivu and Gillies scratches. I think Gillies is a healthy scratch, Koivu felt soreness. Not good. Harding starts.

Damn. No Koivu = not going to be good. I'm meh on both Falk and Gillies, so they can just do whatever.

Well, maybe whoever Fletch is shopping Zanon to wants to see Z play in a game before they make their final decision on pulling the trigger?

So I assume Lundin is hurt then? He's been by far our best D outside of Spurgeon the past few games.

/oh god, it hurts so much to say that Spurgeon is our best defenseman

Maybe Calgary is who wants him and they just hid him the previous couple games so no one else could get a good look at him!

I don't think Russo said anything about Lundin being hurt, and the same with Gillies. He's clearly frustrated with Gillies play so I assume both are healthy scratches. Koivu is a scratch because he's sore.

I like seeing Falk come back in. We saw some real weak D last night and it'd be good to get a guy who can be a pain in the crease/slot for other forwards. One more game like that and Schultz's nickname should be Red Carpet.

Glad to see Gillies scratched. Useless up there, one good game aside. Is the kid playing wrong handed or something?

Looks like a lot of people are asking Russo why Lundin is scratched, but Russo has only replied that Gillies is out because he "looks lost on the ice."

I'm not quite as negative about Gillies, but he simply hasn't been effective.

Hopefully we'll see the physical Falk, not the soft one we all know shows up sometimes.

So is this pretty much our lineup?

Heatley-Cullen-Bouchard
Johnson-Brodziak-Clutterbuck
Ortmeyer-Peters-Palmer
Powe-Staubitz

Scandella-Spurgeon
Schultz-Zidlicky
Falk-Zanon
Stoner

Seriously, it's hard to say, but Spurgeon has been our best D since Scandella started looking like crap from blocking too many shots with the wrong body parts. I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing him step up and be physical. It's just so funny to see.

Injuries .

What is with these guys, don't they drink their milk or something? I can't recall a team that has been so decimated by injuries.

From Russo's blog, Lundin is a healthy scratch. Looks like he's taking the fall for Schultz's play.

When you said healthy scratch I briefly thought it was a type of injury.
