Solid acquisitions for the Moose if they eventually receive contracts after training camp. The blueline was looking ridiculously thin with the departures of Obsut, Jokela, Eakins, etc (not to mention Helmer and Allen in the previous couple of years). Aitken, Dipenta, and now Naumenko give the Moose some much needed experience on the blueline. Green is obviously an excellent two-way AHL player with lots of NHL experience. Interesting to see if the Canucks will give him a contract if he makes the team (Green is currently an unrestricted free agent, isn't he?). Hopefully the rumours of Keane joining the roster are true as well.
My shot at a possible lineup:
extra:Huskins (Bieksa sent to Columbia)
King Kesler Hereema
Sarno Green Goren
Roy T. Smith Keane/Morrison
N. Smith Nolan/or Morrison if Keane signs
lines can be shifted obviously in many different ways. Deepest and most experienced group of forwards they've had in some time if Green and Keane decide to sign contracts at the conclusion of training camp.
Naumenko would be a great pick up. He's a little small and that's why he hasn't played much in the NHL but his offensive talents are valuable in the "A". He should be the powerplay QB and take some offensive pressure off Koltsov (he could sure use some focus on the defensive side of the ice).
Josh Green would also be an awesome pick up. Though I hate to see young guys like Schultz, Kesler and Tim Smith get lost in the shuffle due to vets like Green and even Keane coming in, I would like to see a this team succeed. Green could be a very good AHL player and play on a top line.
It's nice to see some large bodies in Goren and Green. We've missed that element for a while now.
A bunch of other guys were offered try-outs by the Moose. Mostly guys who recently played in the ECHL or college. The only other guys that I'd give an outside chance of making the team (out of the recent invitees) are Brad Ralph and Ryan Campbell.
