Glad to see him pickin' his game back up after a pretty brutal stretch of games.

Someone mentioned in another thread that I think that he's the only player in the top 10 to not lead his team in at least goals or assists. I found that interesting lol.

That's because he's been able to both score and pass. Unlike EK and MM lol

And thus, he's not the right player to build around.

He had a fantastic 3 games last week even in the loss vs Boston. Deserved this one.

Why is this brought up? To just start an argument? You're a mod and you are pushing people buttons so the board can start to bash heads again?

This is supposed to be a thread praising a fantastic week of hockey Spezza played, if you want to turn it into what you brought up, I can go all day on why Spezza shouldn't be the go to guy on any team that is a contender.

Up to you.

You could go all day and continue to be wrong.

Anyway mad ups to Spezza and nice to see him getting some recognition. Man is a beast and if he stays healthy will be in the top 10 in scoring on a team like the Sens. Very impressive indeed.

Actually, you seem to be the one trying to change the subject, no one forced you to take an obvious joke seriously.

Congrats spez.

Clearly a no-brainer. When Spezza's on, so is the team and they are world beaters. When he is not on, the team is a fail4nail.

Clearly, having Spezza and his occasionally somewhat inconsistent performance (overall play vs. stats) is a WIN-WIN situation.

Spezza's one of the key pieces to the rebuild. Anyone who suggest otherwise is ignoring a lot or just doesn't actually get the concept of building a team.

The guy is probably right. I should have known better, and as a mod (currently) I should have set a better example knowing how the board's posters on both sides of the divide act.

Now there will be no more argument or I will have to start moderating.

This is your first and only warning.

Yeah. I do think it's great that we have a guy like Spezza to build around. No team can build solely around one player, and Spezza is a very important piece of the core of a team that could become a cup contender down the line. Each player contributes in their own way, and Spezza is a leader as far as offence is concerned, and he seems to be a great locker-room presence. He's the type of #1 centre that will take us far one day (and already has.)

The thing that impresses me most though is how much he's matured and the way that he's carrying this team with next to no support in the area that he is most involved in.

Go Spez'!
