I got a text from someone in the 100s near the Sens when they warmed up and they said Kuba was visibly wincing through the warmup. I hope he didn't rush back, he's playing well, and helps out. Someone cynical may say the Sens need him in good shape for the trade deadline....
Bit of deja vu. After Regin came back the first time, he could be seen on the bench favouring his shoulder, and he was out again soon after.
Most teams don't trade for injured players I don't think.
Trading him would leave us VERY thin on D. I don't think our team could take it unless we got a Dman back of equal ability and that doesn't make sense.
Unless we are challenging for a playoff spot but even then I could see Murray trading Kuba for either a 2nd rd pick if he can get that or a young player who migth be able to help the Sens right now. Although he will be hard to replace internally murray might be able to swing another deal for a good veteran defencemen who is also a UFA & a little cheaper, trade wise. In other words trade Kuba for a 2nd rd pick & pick up a defencemen for say Daugavins or Butler or a 4th rd pick. Then again he could just keep him & let him walk at the end of the yr, I don't see a scenario where Kuba returns next season though.
I would do a Kuba for Wolski if the NYR would do the deal straight up, I wouldn't want to add anything unless it was a 4th or worse. Wolski would give us more size on the left side, he would definately be an upgrade to Daugavins & if he could return to his form when he was in Colorado, Ottawa would have gotten another good young player cheap. Why not?
