Doesn't look like Lunqvist got a lot of work. 1 really nice save in that highlight package though.

It feels Lundqvist can't fail at the NHL level, he is so good. He got all the tools to be successfull. He is to good for the SEL. However, he got good help from his defense, but he saves everything that comes through.

I can't see either Montoya or Blackburn to be better than Lundqvist, but then I'm from Sweden to.

He is really good. He would have given Dunham a fight for the starting postion last year without a doubt. I think the question is how good he will be. International hockey and the SEL can´t be compared with the NHL. My take on him is that he is really really solid but haven´t showed me that he got that little extra that it would take to be a star in the NHL, yet! =)

it does kinda come down to how he can adjust to the NA game i think, but if he has the skill i don't think that'll be an issue...he'll get his shot before montoya is ready most likely, but you never know who is gonna be better

i'm glad to see him continuing doing great though, awesome stuff. if he keeps it up this year i bet he's definatly swedens choice for goalie in international tournaments from here on

It's too early to tell. I've seen some phenom's never find the next level and some guys i'd never expect anything from make it big time.

Either way the Rangers could have a good thing on their hands.

the thing i do find encouraging about lundqvist is that he has faced NHL quality shooters in tough situations (breakaways) and performed admirably (world championships). so it's not like he's never faced elite talent and is completely untested.

New good game by Lundqvist tonight. Lost his bid for a shutout with 3 secs remaining, but Frolunda still won 2-1. He faced 20 shots...

The golden boy Montoya lost tonight and gave up 4 goals, we'll see how good he is without the best defensive forward Helminen.

Please, hockey is a team sport--losing one player doesn't mean the end of the world (especially a hockey power like Michigan) and one game does not determine how a season will be.

But, you knew that. So feel free to throw another bomb out there.

Of course it is totally impossible that we might have overrated our own prospect. I think Helminen left a big hole for them to fill, their coach was very upset about Helminen leaving.

Would you mind not spamming all of the threads on the board. It seems that since your return the quantity of posts in threads has increased but the quality has declined dramatically. The Lundquist thread was off to a good start, now its off topic and a waste of time to read.
