You're right and some of our prospects aren't averaging a point per game, let's just scrap the whole thing and start over again.

Montoya isn't the golden boy and he isn't god's gift to goaltending. Him and Lunqvist will battle it out at some point probably. Sheesh this isn't a personal thing.

Montoya had a bad game, name one goalie who has never had one.

Montoya isn't overrated he's been one of the top collegiate goalies for two years now and he's all of 20 years old.

Helminen was a good hockey player, but the yellow and blue aren't falling apart with out him. They've been a top program for a long time now and there is a reason for that.

It was the opening game of the regular season for Michigan last night in the 4-3 loss...first time in 13 years Michigan has lost a home opener and first time they'd lost to Northeastern (3-1 all time now)

Montoya came back today though and won against BU 7-2...letting in the goals in the final 6 minutes of the game.

Holt is also on his way to winning today against Connecticut...not exactly a powerhouse, but nice to see him get a victory behind one of the youngest teams in the NCAA.

Way to derail and trainwreck a stickied thread about another topic entirely.

You made a comment about one of our prospects losing a game and a poster pointed out that the loss of one player doesn't determine the future of a program or the direction another players development takes, and you responded by saying that maybe we overrated one of our prospects, that was responded to by someone saying that the program is going to fall apart and you responded by saying that you're just saying how it is.

Now Saying Montoya gave up four goals in a loss is a fact, saying that the loss of Helminen is going to dictate Michigan's future is OPINION not Fact and pretty much an invalid opinion to boot.

That program has been consistently one of the best in the Country over the last 15 years, do you REALLY believe that losing ONE player is going to determine the future of the program? If you do, then it is your OPINION, not a FACT.

Maybe you should read the whole thread and not your own last comment.

I think you are reading too much into what I said. Point is they lost the best defensive forward in their division, sure it is not the end of the world, but I expect it doesn't make them any better. I never said they are going to fall apart, all of you just like putting words in my mouth.

Lundqvist had 32 saves and gained a SO when Frölunda beat Södertälje 2-0. I´ll post the highlights once they are up.

Absolutely sick! Marvelous!

I don't speak Swedish, was that against Brynäs? Wasn't that Johan Asplund's old team? What happened to him?

I dated a girl from Gävle once...

nah, that was against Södertälje. Brynäs was Asplunds's old team. He is now playing for Nyköping in the 2nd-tier league.. sharing the job as starter. Pretty safe to say that his chances of a SEL career, let alone NHL career, are close to 0

Lundqvist made 30 saves as Frölunda beat Malmö with 6-2. Lundqvist played stellar for 35 minutes. But after that there wasn´t much hockey played, Frölunda was up 4-1 and there is a new crackdown on intereference in the SEL. The ref decided that enough hockey had been played for the night and called 20 minors for hooking, interference and tripping from the 35th minute and on. There was 3 on 3 hockey played for about four minutes of the game...

i'm sure the rangers are going to

with blackburn's uncertainty, i can't see the rangers moving any of their goaltending prospects at this point. lundqvist will probably get a shot before montoya but in the end it'll come down to who plays the best

sticky dilema, i like all 3 of the rangers goaltending prospects, I hope blackburn recovers cuz i like him a lot, lundqvist is doing awesome though, and montoya has the potential to be a big game goalie like richter...i'm gonna be sad to see any of them traded (or in blackburns case, it might be his career ending )

A weekly hockey show in Sweden has a interview with Henrik and a collage with his best saves of the year so far. The show is 30 minutes long and the interview with Lundqvist starts after 12 minutes and 29 seconds.

Henrik let in only 1 goal tonight as Frolunda defeated Djurgården 2-1. The goal came on a breakaway put in by "the polish prince", Mariusz Czerkawski. He stopped 18 shots.

That was a sweet penalty shot by Magnus Kronberg (I think!).
