The Matt Carle Official turnover thread

So many tonight it's laughable. This guy away from Pronger is pathetic in his own end. We can list all of the horrendous turnovers that he makes for the rest of the season in here

If we listed all of them, we'd need a few threads. Would get passed the 1k limit

No Carle should be celebrating his game tying assist with the devils.

This thread is showcasing the defensive talents of matt carle. There is no hate here.

Carle cost the team a point tonight and could have cost them 2 with the amount of awful plays he made.

And people think this guy is worth 5 million a year...

Carle

=

Turnover

Both are nice in theory, but in actuality are doughy emptiness that'll in the end just give you heart problems.

And that's my attempt at levity after the way this game was ended.

Once the appreciation thread was made, this was inevitable. This is just restoring the natural balance.

The D corps as a whole minus kimmo is pretty suspect these days. Do you think the forwards have anything to do with it? Sometimes i feel like they are trying too hard to stretch the ice and the opposing teams are just clogging the neutral zone to pick off errant passes. Last year it seems like it was two passes and out the zone. This year it seems like a lot of circling about. I dunno what else to say

Carle in his post game interview sounded like Bryzgalov after the Winnipeg game....well not as critical but pretty close. I just wish he had punched himself in the face....tonight's "effort" was inexcusable.

The problem with the defense clearing and getting the puck out of the zone is because Lavy has the forwards playing so high on the boards in the defensive zone. That is a flaw in his system. The forwards need to get back and help the D because they spin it around the boards all the time and the other teams defense always keeps it in the zone.

They don't have much consistency on their breakout that is for sure. Need Prongs and his first pass as opposed to Carle, Lilja and Mesz playing like @ss....

Coburn had equally a bad game.

Carle isn't the greatest in his own zone. We get that.

Coburn passed the puck up the middle with a 3-2 lead late in the 3rd period with no one back and a man still behind him?

Coburn actually used his body tonight and made some important plays. Matt Carle couldn't even take his man to the outside on a 1-on-1, despite having closed the gap by the red line. Matt Carle did nothing offensively, and that's all he's good for. This is what happens to one-dimensional players, especially offense-first defensemen.

The defense is just not playing good. It shows that they miss Prongs back there. However, I hope Homer is scouting these teams for a trade for a d-man.

This was my take as well. I thought Mez played an alright game too.

Announcers talk about "being too cute with the puck" and "just do the simple things". That is not what Carle was doing on his 3rd period NJD assist.

When i saw carle's giveaway in the third all i could do was

This is not the first time Carle has ruined a win with a bad turnover either. He seems to do it a few times a season.

Hopefully nobody else in the league knows this. Maybe we can trade Carle to a desperate team for their first. Or trade him and a second to Winnipeg for Zack Bogosian.

Coburn is immune to Carle's criticism.

And thank god too...if we had to give Coburn as much criticism as Carle deserves we'd fill up the entire internet. (See post #17)
