I am looking forward to seeing 3 lines with scoring abilities though.

Top 6 bottom 6 my butt, you need 3 scoring lines today, and an intelligent game plan.
Burke has recently admitted several times that Top 6 - Bottom 6 is an outdated formula. He still wants more size in his Top 9 or 10 as he called it recently, but all the players need skill as well. So not just shot blockers and bodycheckers, more guys like Kulemin or Frattin; big bodies that can play defensive hockey, who also can contribute in the points department as well here or there.

So it is nice to know that he agrees with that.

I'm outraged! Why didn't they recall Colborne instead? Burke/Wilson is ignoring the poor kid because he only brings skill.

j/k

Didn't Burke admit as much last month? That he's realized the top 6 bottom 6 thing doesn't work anymore?

I hope this call is his last. He fits into a top 6 role perfectly. If he's playing anything less than 2nd PP minutes and 2nd line minutes, Wilson should just be fired because he gave a LOT of opportunities to Frattin, Crabb etc.

Good for Nazem

Leaf lines perhaps

LBK
Kadri -Connolly - Mac
Kulemin -Grabs - Frattin
Rosey - Boyce - Crabb
Steckel in for Rosey when healthy and Boyce can play the wing and how you have to bangers on the wing who will hustle and dig pucks out but no finishers on that line but at least you can play them almost 10 mins a game and allow the top 3 lines to keep fresh for the whole game.

if he doesn't score a PPG this stint, he'll be banished again.

Oh dave don't be so serious. I'm having fun with you, not against you. Festivus is for airing your grievances, and having this grievance taken away just before Festivus is like your dog dying just before Christmas.

I thought Connolly and Kulemin were starting to get something going and Kulemin and Grabo have still struggled , would like to see

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
Kulemin- Connolly - Kadri (two solid responsible vets that will be in good position and know when to distribute)

Frattin - Grabovski - Mac (Frattin plays a similar game to Kuly but with a little more speed, would be interesting to see if he can get chemistry with these guys)

Not a problem man. I still like you and would have a beer with anyone on this board and shoot the **** about the Leafs. Debate does not mean hate.

Hopefully he manages to get some time in on the power-play, I actually wouldn't be surprised if we see a Lupul - Kadri - Kessel first PP unit within a couple games.

You always hope with a prospect like Kadri that its his last, but the reality is that Eakins isnt likely done with him. The simply fact is Lombardi will be back soon, and unless Kadri is one of the Leafs best players, hes the logical person to send down.

With Dupuis out, Boyce becomes essential to the 4th line, as he provides a skillset and use that Lombardi doesnt (Lombardi is fast but he sucks on the PK)

If this was 10 games ago, I would say Kadri outplaying Frattin could warrant a Frattin demotion, but Matts had a real strong past 4 games or so, and its fair to say he has earned his spot in the top 9.

That leaves Crabb. Crabb has been declining as of late, but he does fill a dual need of 3rd and 4th line wing, and has enough skill to be shuffled in to top roles. He is also one of our better PKers

It is also coincidental that often Kadri gets called up during a losing streak, I believe last year that is when we called him up too. Pretty tough position to be in, but I don't think anyone will disagree that he is playing his best hockey since he turned pro right now. Connolly and Mac will be a good mix for him I think, so hopefully they can contribute consistently. Still, tempering expectations for bringing up a 21-y/o in the midst of our team's worst stretch of the year is pretty important too.

Oh, I'd recommend a crowbar in that case, easier to conceal and handle.

Hasn't that already been done not to long ago in the womens skating sport? Need to be somewhat original.

Wilson likes Bozak-Kessel-Lupul-Phaneuf-Liles on the PP, and they've been having a good amount success. I doubt they mess with that.

the 2nd PP unit might work. Connolly-Franson-Gardiner and two of Grabovski, MacArthur and Kadri
