I'd do,

Regehr - Ehrhoff
Sekera - Myers
Leo - Grags
Weber

Not popular, but it is critical that Ehrhoff be paired with Regehr...Ehrhoff is not a defensive D man...nor a 2 way D man...He is an offensive defenseman, so it is about time he was allowed to showcase what he can do.

Grags, despite his bonehead mistakes that happen once or twice a game, has impressed me more than Weber. I like McNabb but the kid is still raw and his skating is an issue. I think I am the only one who doesn't want MAG gone.

As i would play and i wouldnt give Ehrhoff so much minutes.
When he plays to much de doesnt produce.
I would give him around 21 minutes every game.

As for pairings....

Regehr/Sekera ---> I would like to see together as the shutdown pairing. They've been good together.

After that I'm leaning towards

Leo/Hoff ----> they've been solid together in the past

McNabb/Myers --> McNabb's steady defensive play would allow Myers to gallop into the rush as much as possible.
Sold!!!

Though, I am a bit concerned about Leopold. He has been making some weird gaffe's...I am hoping he is just pressing to much to try and create.

He's trying to play through a damaged hand. It's not helping his puckhandling at all.

It will probably best for Myers to play the bottom pairing for the remainder of the year now that I think about it, since he isn't going to be great with the puck for a long time. I guess it takes a LONG time to get your puck handling ability back after the injury he has.

but not by much. If Keith is a 2-way defense man, and Gonchar is in offensive defense man, then Ehrhoff is closer to being Gonchar than a Keith. Or Suter, Weber, Letang, or any number of good 2-way top tier defense man. He doesn't suck out loud at playing D, at times he's brilliant and other times he's retarded.

Ehrhoff is pretty close to as advertised. He is good offensively (though we havn't gotten to see much of that after the first few games this year) and average defensively. Also very prone to making mistakes in his own end. So I'm alright with his play, because we got him expecting pretty much what we have (with a little more offense)

I feel the same way, he's a solid top 4, no complaints. Myers is the guy who could be the teams tier 1 2-way d-man. When those 2 are playing their best hockey, the rest of the D falls right into place. Ruff needs to get them both on the top pp unit on their trigger sides, build the chemistry now and keep it there for many years. It's so rare to have 2 cannons out there who are both on their shooting sides, it's laughable how Grags is treated like Bobby Orr on the PP instead of those two. lol

McNabb will be back in Rochester along with Kassian when our lineup is healthy. Playing in Rochester will do nothing but help these two become better hockey players in the long run.

Uh no.Kassian should be going no where.McNabb yes, he needs more seasoning but Kassian is the real deal and has earned a permanent spot.

I hope Kassian and McNabb both stay. With a team considered to be soft, to send these guys back ensures the Sabres will stay that way. Gragnani takes alot of heat and deservedly so, but I prefer him over Weber.
