The All Purpose Alexander Radulov Thread v1.0 (UPD: Does not have to clear waivers)
Quote:
"I am not going to say anything about the NHL because actually I never closed the door on the idea of playing there. As far as Salavat Yulaev is concerned, I have a contract with the team for this year and the next. However, it actually contains [a clause] with a possibility of early termination… I am not ruling out anything. Because if there are offers, we will consider them"
-Radulov
Saw this and thought I would share.. (from puck Daddy)
Guys, let the moderators decide if a thread should be deleted or not. If you do not want to see the thread, ignore it rather than commentating on its worth. If one of us closes this thread then another one will just pop up as soon as someone else reads the Puck Daddy article. I'm going to sticky this one since this is a new article, but once the conversation dies out I cannot promise it will remain stickied.
I would love for Radulov to return, but I am not counting on it. He would definitely add to the offense.
Seriously, I'll believe it when I see a contract signed. That being said, I'll welcome him with open arms if he does decide to come back. Not keeping my hopes up though.
Seriously, Radulov is the ultimate tease. Every year we hear he may come back and nothing happens. I would welcome it but I ain't gonna hold my breath.
We must have gotten bad information previously. I thought he was done after this year.
No it was this year and next with Ufa ... with the out clause. This is just a rehash of info we've seen before, other than Radulov's comment on "offers" and the speculation that his EL contract could be "torn up" and a new contract signed. I was under the impression that 47 would have to play the remaining year on his EL contract out, and only then could a new contract be negotiated.
As stated above, I will believe it when I see it. If he wears the gold I'll likely boo him his first time on the ice but cheer him after that ... he would make the team better IF he will play Predator hockey and is good in the room.

Yea I meant previous information from a year or two ago was bad. Not this new development. All of us on HF were under the impression this was his final year. Looks like he has another year left, if he even wants to complete it that is.
If it is possible to void his remaining year on his NHL ELC, then we should go for it I think. I'd rather have him here scoring goals for us than worrying about a few bucks. Give him a new contract and let bygones be bygones.
What does everyone think a fair contract for him would be if we are able to void his ELC?
He also said in this interview that he wants to be on the team with good players that is ready to compete every single night and a real cup contender.
So as of now I don't think Nashville is suitable.
My word he is back in the NHL with Chicago Or Detroit in 13-14 under new CBA.
And how exactly is he going to elude his obligation to nashville? I seriously doubt they are going to write in a clause just for rads in the new cba. Unless you are thinking he plays in nashville in 12-13 and that the new cba would make him unrestricted after that
That girl who left you after getting you all excited might, just maybe, agree to go on another date with you .... if she decides to dump the guy she left you to be with ... and you agree to kiss her butt ... and on and on.
Radulov was an immature, money chasing ***** when he left and the more he opens his hole the less it looks like he's matured. A great skill set tainted by a primadonna attitude and 5 cent brain.

A few flaws in your theory. First, he's under contract for one more year, period. Second, for him to become an unrestricted free agent after just one season back requires a pretty significant change to the CBA ... more dramatic than even anything Fehr has mentioned in public. He owes the NHL one year on an entry level deal, he then becomes a restricted free agent ... he can't tear up his current deal and he there are no offers that can be made to him from teams besides Nashville until he completes his ELC.
