If he chooses the WC, I don't think he'd be twiddling his thumbs. I read their camp starts March 20. But, I think he's already made his choice. His scheduled meeting with the KHL officials Wednesday tells me he wants to wear Preds gold this season.

The "situation" in the past, or their upcoming decision perpetuating the "situation"? That's a fairly vague comment. I hope Bettman, et al went to bat for the Preds during those talks with Medvedev. I'm going to hold a positive attitude till the official word comes out after Radulov's meeting with the KHL.

Considering the bulk of the reports swirling around on Twiiter and the media (Russian and NA), I'd say the chances of his return this season as pretty darn good.
I took that to mean that the NHL (and the NHLPA who lost a dues paying member) was still pissed about what Rads did and that might jeopardize their plans to play in the USA and a better transfer agreement.

Im hoping the KHL is going to let Rads return as an olive branch to put that situation behind them...

As I mentioned, Medvedev said the KHL won't be the iron curtain if he wants to return. It's going to Radulov's choice. Let's hope they don't offer him his own 100 ft mega yacht moored by his dacha on the Black Sea.

Renaud Lavoie tweet 10:54 AM - 12 Mar 12:

NHL and NHLPA made a deal yesterday and Alexander Radulov don't have to go thrue waivers to come back this season.

The league isn't going to the NHLPA with this request if Nashville didn't raise it.

This is a very, very good sign.

This. Sounds like the dominoes may be lining up after all.

I have long wanted Rads to make good on his contract. IF he comes back, I can pciture a scenario where:
1) He has a successful playoff run
2) gets offered a nice contract as an RFA here
3) decides he has accomplished all there is in the KHL, made a big bucket of cash, and decides to play in the premier hockey league in the world, the NHL.

BUT, until I see some official confirmation he is, in fact, coming back to play this season, I will try not to think about it much....

Fun fact: as I texted my brother with this update my telephone automatically changed "NHLPA" to "********" (and I know it's censored... the long form of BS).

I'm usually all for BBQ, but it just seems to me that meat slow cooked with pollution, impatience, and superiority complex just won't taste good

I knew it was sarcasm....but it's so true.

EDIT: Now, back to Rads.

An idea for a lineup:

SK-Fisher-Erat
AK-Legwand-Hornqvist
? -Gaustad-Radulov
? -Spaling-Halischuk

Leftovers: Wilson, Smith, Bourque, Tootoo, McG, Yip

BTW just found it on Russian media:
He is going to Moscow for medical evaluation and MRI on Wednesday. Meeting with the KHL officials is
Just a side business requested by Medvedev.
Wasn't first intention of Rads.

NHL and NHLPA cleared him to return. Request was made by Radulov's agent in NA on the subject.
Tomorrow the business with Salavat Ylaev will be taken care off.

so whats with the MRI??
is there concern he is hurt?

that would totally suck... have him come over, only to burn his ELC on IR....

Chesnekov said it was a minor knee sprain. he has been playing on it. And you would think poile would get a Physical first.
