Helmet help

Hello,

Does anybody have any information or history with the Mission 1501 helmet and shield? I bought it but I'm not a huge fan, thinking about switching to a Bauer or CCM with half shield. Thanks!

Well the helmet looks really cheap and not something I'd use as it only has single density VN foam, but if that's the price you paid that's a good price just for the shield.

If you're just starting out, stick with a cage or full shield.

Otherwise check the big beginner thread sticky up top for helmet recommendations.

If you're a beginner I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend against a half shield, but the Bauer straight visor is pretty standard.

I use a single density VN on my vintage HT2 and my 652, and I don't notice a difference between the fit or comfort to dual density on my CCM V08...
also I think the 4000 4500 series bauers are single density VN as well

BUT... I haven't hit my head in them neither

also, its not so much if you're a beginner that you need to be careful... its if you're playing with beginners.

4000/4500 is dual density, only the 1500 is single.
