Yea, no kidding. And some are STILL slotting Kassian in next years lineup in the top 6. Talk about eyes closed and ears covered!
outside of one good scoring chance that chewy ended up banging home Kassian looked terrible last night...he was slow and fell down a few times all by himself lol
Foligno is like a heat seeking missile, he'll hit anything within sight however he looked like he tended to kinda float around and never appeared to be be working to hard...didnt see much from him offensively, Lagace actually impressed me the most on O.
Honestly the biggest surprise is that Rochester doesnt park either guy in from of the net as big bodied scrappers both played on the periphs in the offensive zone it seemed
Biega was a hugeeee mess last night looked very gragnani-esque

Oklahoma is absolutely punking Zack Kassian. They are trash talking him, pushing him all over the place and he hasn't stepped up.

Zack Kassian's response to me asking why he never fights? - "What kind of F#@%'ing question is that?" He says. So there u go
For the record, Kassian was horrid yet again. Seemed like he didn't care.
he is just lazy, not vanek lazy but regular old fashioned lazy.
“He has to play a physical game and if he has to fight he has to fight,” Rolston said. “I think it's part of the game and part of what he's here to do is be a physical player. If it happens, we are not in a situation where we're telling him not to fight, that's for sure.”
I think its time for me to do an ISO cam on Kassian again tonight.

I honestly want to like Kassian, but I haven't been impressed with him at all in Rochester and this just backs up why. I would have no problem with Rolston sitting him a game. Do it tonight against OKC when we are short players already just to make a point.

Kassian: “You aren't the coach of the team.”
Kassian then walked away, back down the hall way in toward the showers.
In the beginning of the season I thought the coaches told him not to play a tough game or fight but this is ridiculous. He is just lazy.
***edit*** now that I have read the article, the coach has made it very clear there that he hasn't placed any restrictions on his game, its all up to kassian.

No kidding. Guy has to be learn to be a professional. He also doesn't have an NHL-ready offensive game yet, and he needs to keep developing that in Rochester.

Yep. I get ill when I see him on posters' untouchable list. People love the idea of Kassian, not the reality of what he is right now. The guy isn't close to being Milan Lucic 2.0, and his present disposition makes me wonder if he'll ever get there. I'd have zero problem selling high on him to get a 1C. For instance, if Anaheim wanted Roy + Kassian+ for Getzlaf, I'd do it without hesitation.
I wonder if we could package Kassian in a trade at this point? Not that he doesn't still have upside, but if he doesn't mature, he's not going to be much use to us in the long term.
starting to become concerned. I don't know what kind of coach Rolston is, but hopefully he can light a fire under this guy. Kassian has shown he can be a force out there when he wants to be. To have all that talent and not use it...ugh. What I wouldn't give to be in his shoes.
WGR: “Zack, they were talking a lot of trash to you tonight, a lot of fans have been asking why you haven't been more physical and why you haven't gotten in more fights?”
Kassian: “I don't go looking for fights. I don't know what kind of question that is, that's a pretty (expletive) stupid question.”
WGR: “It's a question fans are asking”

I would think so. Young, immature guys have been traded before (Avery, Downie) so I'm willing to bet there are more than enough GMs who think they can switch the light on if they get him.

True enough. It might be worth it to hang onto him just to see if someone can kick some sense into him, but I would think in a rebuild where the team will probably (hopefully) be focusing on hard work and tenacity you wouldn't want that kind of attitude in the locker room.
Maybe in a system with more established leadership (taking nothing away from Ellis etc. as they've been up here and/or injured) he would turn it around.
An interesting bit of information that Rolston shared was that they’ve had several ECHL players decline to come and play for the Amerks. Every minor league team has a list of players they’ve been keeping an eye on for times like this when bodies are needed but when the time comes there’s several factors involved.
That seems very strange to me, who would turn down an option to move up, make more $$$ and have a chance to stick around?
Depends on the player. Some guys who've been around a while may make more money in the ECHL and the weekend call up isn't worth the travel/hassle for them. Or maybe they have families.

Good to know, I just assumed the echl paid less than the ahl
OKC quickly up 2-0. I didn't see either goal before tuning in, so I can't help there.
Amerks got a power play shortly after mid-period. Looked good except for an awful turnover by the point man (sorry, I missed the name on that too) - a telegraphed pass led to an OKC breakaway.
Just had a 10 second stretch where he went to the net on a partial breakaway, got a nice backhand off, crunched his check in the corner, got the puck, and passed for another scoring chance.
