He signed one of the best defensemen in the league, would you have rather he let Markov walk away? How would that have helped us exactly?

I would rather he fire a coach than grin and bear the ****** play.

PG built this team? LMAO, gainey built this **** and bailed at the last second. PG has been doing the best he can with that mess he was given.

You should be thanking the stars because if gainey was still here he would have traded Gallagher, Bournival and our 2nd round pick for Komisarek.

GULAG!

Seriously, if we're gonna miss the playoffs, those guys from staff to players, whatever is wrong with them, well they're getting us Nail, so why change them? If we're gonna be a lottery team, might be the best damn we can be!

He was part of that mess being Gainey's head scout!

Love the Chelsea Dagger song. Really like the Blackhawks. Still don't like losing.

On the plus side though, Carolina is ahead of us in goals per game now so that's the silver lining.

Markov walking away is funny, because right now, Markov can't walk much. That's sort of the point.

PG built this team, it's not like he didn't have a say in the UFA hiring spree.

Nah, BG wasn't that dumb.

If anyone is pulling strings I bet it's Molson. I think he basically castrated his coach and GM with his statement.

I expect wholesale changes over the summer.

4 wins in last 15 games , will do that.

Now couple this slump in ,with the one that started the season ....

Gauthier should step down like a man ...

There will be 3000 empty seats in Bell Centre in last half of season .IMHO

I'm surprised a lot of you would want to get rid of Plekanec. He works hard every night and his wingers suck. Not his fault. If he were the second center on this team (which I guess he kind of is), along with another sure scorer, we wouldn't complain. Again, he has no one to play with. Aside from the fact he has a NTC, he actually cares about the team and is one of the best two-way fwds. There is a lot of suck on this team right now, but it isn't him.

I personally think that if things don't improve in the next 20, PG will be fired, Bob Gainey or Larry Carriere will be getting to finish the year as GM to play janitors, RC will remain behind the bench until the season's ending and next summer Molson will go medieval on the organisation.

The only problem I have with that his seeing PG be in charge come trade deadline and I'm not really sure he would do a good job. I would personally hire a new GM and have him makes to moves to buid his own team the way he wants it to look like

And that means what exactly? I can disagree with my boss til im blue in the face and he can still do what he wants because he is my boss. That is kinda how it works.

Gainey got screwed on almost all of his trades, let me guess those were all on PG too? I forgot PG was pulling gaineys string the whole time, I see how it works.

Holy crap have you heard that?

Michel Langevin on TV saying that JM's firing basically went as follows.

JM was called to the training center at 7AM, he clocked in at 6.

At 7AM Gauthier arrived, looked JM in the eye and said "You're fired". Turned around and left!!!! Nothing else was said.

PG is an *******. JM sucked, but that is NOT a way to fire someone.

If it is true.

I would hope for that too. Maybe that will happen. It can't happen tonight though. If Gauthier is going, they will need to find someone. The search for GM may take longer than that though. So, we might see ourselves either keeping Gauthier or doing a Cliff Fletcher if Molson does not trust him.

Gainey took a **** on the franchise, runs away, PG has to fix it and then PG gets blamed for it?

Wow, and I thought watching the game was bad.

Mid-season is not the time you hire a new GM.

If they're gonna do wholesale changes this summer why not do it ASAP.. I see no reason to wait TBH.. I wouldn't want someone who isn't gonna be here next year deciding on what moves to make for the future..

On a side note.. Tampa is down 5-0 tonight so we might get our French speaking coach sooner than expected..

PG was the head of pro scouting for the team when BG did his hirings... BG probably hired all those guys based on PG's recommendations. And I have to add, a whole lot of people were quite happy at the hirings at the time.... it sucks this went south like it did.

USED to be one of the best defensemen. I would have let him walk instead of giving him that contract to be honest. The guy has barely played in the last couple of years. He is oft injured and he just adds to the circus thats going on right now.
