I know a lot of our current problems are not caused by PG and it's kind of hard to judge him based on what we have seen from him. He has not been here long. And I like that he has been more proactive, but at the same time I do wonder if this is the guy for the job. He has been a GM before, and I don't think his past record was too impressive.

Not as many candidates to replace guys in the middle of a season.

There will be 3000 empty seats in Bell Centre in last half of season .IMHO
I hope so, I can take the family to a game when the firesale starts!

PG is an *******. JM sucked, but that is NOT a way to fire someone.

If it is true.

"I packed for the trip and everything was fine in the (Friday) morning meeting," Spacek said. "But then I walked by the (dressing-room) board and there was the lineup for practice. My number was outside the lineup and thought, ‘Ah, here we go, something's going on for sure.' "

Spacek shrugged and laced his skates shortly after 11 a.m. local time for 11:30 practice and was about to pull his stockings over his shin pads when assistant coach Randy Ladouceur told him he was wanted in head coach Jacques Martin's office.

Off he went, still in skates.

"(Martin) said, ‘How are you doing?' then started punching a number into his phone," Spacek recalled. "I figured he was calling Pierre (Gauthier, the Canadiens general manager).

"Pierre told me I was traded, but the strange thing was, he didn't tell me where because it hadn't been approved by the league. He told me, ‘It's not fair to the other team if I tell you where you're going,' and I said, ‘What the hell are you talking about? You've just traded me.' "

No, I know I don't see it happening. Unless we had a real candidate. But I do think an interim is possible. Not saying it would happen. But if management is planning on getting rid of PG, would they want him overseeing any deadline selling. So, I think a Cliff Fletcher thing, like the leafs did would be acceptable.

A shame for the organisation. We used to be the class of the league in terms of treating people with respect.

If that's true that's pretty unprofessional.. What a poorly run management team the Habs have in place..

If I remember correctly, Selanne also hate Gauthier because of the way he learned he was traded back when Gauthier was the Ducks' GM.

I don't think Pierre likes to fire/trade someone, so he pretty much suck at it.

Where are "Carey Price" and "Andy" to tell how great a position this organization is in?

I'm waiting for their excuses...

Just got off the phone with MathMan, he is not finished crunching the numbers but it appears to be that we are really snake bitten with more bad luck again.
